Job Summary
The University System of Georgia Well-being department would like to invite a student to learn about building successful cultures of well-being in an internship. This unpaid internship would work directly under the System Benefits Wellness Program Manager.
This objectives of this internship would be to learn how to coordinate Well-being programs to include:
Designing innovative, evidence-based programs
Assisting with program administration
Conducting primary research to inform of programs and initiatives
Developing evaluation tools
The University System of Georgia Well-being department welcomes any prospective students that match the aforementioned qualifications. The department will engage each student within two weeks of a submission to indicate next steps in the internship process. The eligible student will receive a course credit for towards their degree program.
Educational Requirements

Nature and Scope:
Under the direction of the Wellness Director, the Wellness Intern/Volunteer will perform specific duties listed below to the level agreed upon with his/her supervisor. The Wellness Intern/Volunteer will be instrumental in helping members on the fitness floor with general questions, equipment operation, and information retrieval. This position must perform program responsibilities in accordance with the policies, goals, mission and values established by the YMCA of Metro Atlanta.
Minimum Requirements:
* 2.0 GPA preferred.
* Pass the State of Georgia Criminal Background check.
* CPR/AED required.
* Knowledge of general weight-lifting and health/wellness concepts and the ability to demonstrate use of wellness-related equipment preferred.
* Must possess visual and cognitive abilities to utilize computer-based and written materials to administer all job-related responsibilities.
