About the role - CDL Class B Driver (Louisville, TN) We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a CDL Class B Driver within our Orica USA Commercial team. This role will be responsible for driving and operating Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and installing blasting products for our customers at local construction sites, mines, and quarries as well as being accountable for the upkeep and maintenance of the equipment. This is a hybrid role that consists of approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work related to the installation of blasting products. Responsibilities include loading products, driving a Class B CDL truck, pulling hoses, operating manufacturing units control systems, and climbing on and off the bulk truck in various weather conditions. Additionally, this role will operate equipment to provide blasting products while assisting in delivering a high-quality service of bulk explosives to customers. We prioritize safety and strive to ensure that all operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times. Work Schedule Monday through Friday Local driving (2-3 hours) Early morning starts at approximately 4 AM - 5 AM Work approximately 10-12 hours per day Overtime may be needed Up to 10% overnight travel may be required What you will be doing This is a hybrid position, consisting of approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking and refilling fluid levels. Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks as part of daily responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES • Performs at an 85% efficiency on a 3-month average in all work types • Can diagnose and perform general body repairs. • Can Prep and apply paints and finishes with supervision • Has the technical ability to teach apprentice technicians on general repair processes. • Has the competencies to complete tasks in any prior technician classification. • Possesses prior documentation and / or certification as needed in any prior technician classification. • Certified in refrigerant handling and HVAC repairs • Communicates with co-workers, management, and customers in a professional and positive manner. • Presents one's self with a professional appearance, supports safe working habits, and complies with all company policies. • Foster teamwork within the department and with all other departments. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE • Reports directly to the Service Forman or designee QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); • Two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. REQUIRED SKILLS • Effective written communication skills that allow for every opportunity to sell hours. • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and flow-charts used to diagnose truck systems. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Position requires extended periods of standing, walking, stooping and lifting.
