The Opportunity
We're seeking a Youth Care Worker to provide direct care and supervision to children in our program. This role ensures safety, fosters positive relationships, teaches life skills, and implements behavior management strategies to support growth and stability. Youth Care Workers play an essential role in creating a family-like environment where children feel safe, supported, and valued.
What You'll Do
Continuously monitor the youth's safety, security, and well-being, intervening to prevent hazards.
Maintain a positive, caring, respectful demeanor at all times.
Apply verbal de-escalation techniques and other behavior management strategies as trained.

Arrive and depart punctually, maintaining a strong attendance record.

Engage youth in enrichment activities both on-site and off-site (e.g., parks, malls, movie theaters).
Check and respond to emails and communications in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with direct care staff during shift changes, sharing pertinent youth and campus updates.
Understand and support each child's individualized service plan, providing feedback to the team.
Complete all required documentation promptly, thoroughly, and accurately.
Participate in all necessary training and staff meetings.

What We're Looking For
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with at-risk youth (residential care preferred).
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Ability to pass a Level 2 FDLE background screen, drug screen, and local background screen upon initial hire and annually.
Valid Driver's License: has and maintains a valid driver's license and can operate a company vehicle to transport children without restrictions. Must be insurable by A Kid's Place's insurance carrier.

Essential Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
General. Strategizes for optimal performance of the Finance Department ensuring proper segregation of duties with efficient, effective, and accurate performance of staff. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures. Researches Best Practices and new technology opportunities. Oversees all functions within the Finance Department to ensure accounting systems function properly. Maintains chart of accounts. Reviews entries for reasonableness. Documents and maintains complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
Bank/Account Reconciliations. Ensures bank and investment account reconciliations are completed in a timely manner according with organization policy. Ensures balance sheet accounts are reconciled and balances are appropriate.

Job Description
Job Type: Contract
Responsible professional work delivering therapeutic interventions including individual/family interventions and/or behavioral interventions to youth and their families. Primary clients access services through the Family Services Initiative of the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas. Individuals participate in the organization's continuous quality improvement efforts.
Must be Bilingual (i.e. English and Spanish)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Follows all Program and JWB guidelines, standards, and procedures in regard to privacy, access, clinical care, and documentation.
Develops and implements effective service plans designed to improve emotional problems and reduce behavioral problems. Ensures that plans developed are appropriate to the ages and populations served and includes input from the client and family.
Provides hands-on support, training, and mentorship to families.
Delivers therapeutic services using a multi-model approach on an individual and family basis to include when appropriate, behavioral modification techniques. Service delivery may occur in-home, in-school, in-office, or in the community based on family need.
Schedules regular visits with assigned client/family.
Provides on-going assessment, evaluation, treatment, discharge planning and other services as required.
Completes accurate and timely clinical documentation of the highest quality and consistent with agency standards, rules and regulations. Completes required assessments, treatment plans, closing documents, and progress notes.
Monitors the overall course of services for the client and family consistent with service plan and revises plan as needed.
Communicates with System Navigators from partner agency and other providers providing services to families served.
Attends agency and required training as directed.
Attends Monthly QA Meetings or follows up on meeting topics when absent.
Participate in all Continuous Quality Improvement activities as required including program assessment, monitoring, and reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
A Master's Degree from an accredited university or college in the field of social work, counseling, or psychology and two years' experience providing counseling and behavior modification services to the target population.
Licenses & Certifications
:
Must be licensed professional in the state of Florida or a Registered Intern for licensure in the state of Florida under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner or have a CAP certification.
Work Requirements:
Must have access to transportation to provide services in the home, school, community, or in office based on the needs of the family.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening.
