Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Aerospace Engineer SME to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)/ Integrated Experiments and Evaluation Division (RVE) to provide support in cradle to grave efforts. Responsibilities include:
Support flight experiment mission and operations planning including:
Procedure development for all phases of the mission.
CONOPS development.
Launch and Early Operations (LEOps) plan
Operational testing via simulator (to include setup, configuration, and use of various virtual simulations and flatsats).
Ground system testing to include operations acceptance testing, factory compatibility tests, and launch-base compatibility tests.
Mission operations center planning to include facility planning, layout, and preparation.
Participation in events such as day in the life tests, exercises, rehearsals, and mission dress rehearsals as an operator, systems expert, or mission planner
Directly support flight operations, including:
Spacecraft on-orbit operations and experimentation including on- call support as required.
Operations acceptance testing to include regression testing of new operational components and processes.
Development of vehicle fault detection reporting systems.
Anomaly resolution support and reporting.
Qualifications Required:
15+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, recognized as an defense industry SME.
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Extensive, proven experience in the integration of flight experiments, including system design, test planning, execution, and post-flight analysis.
Strong understanding of aerospace systems and the technical aspects of flight test operations, including hardware/software integration, telemetry, and mission-critical systems.
Experience in anomaly investigation and resolution, including root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions to ensure mission success.
Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry standards, regulations, and best practices, particularly those related to flight tests and system integration.
Expertise in systems engineering principles and practices, including requirements definition, validation, and verification.

The base pay range for this role is $87,200 - $117,700. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.

As a Water/Wastewater Process Engineer you will apply your unique skills and insights as part of teams that span the Intermountain Region and across the United States.
The position supports delivery of public sector water/wastewater facility planning and design projects. In your role you will evaluate, design, and support startup and operation of public sector wastewater treatment facilities.
In addition, you will support projects as a critical part of the design team, a design lead, a task manager, and/or a project manager. You will prepare facility assessment and design reports, perform design calculations, perform process and/or hydraulic modeling, select and size equipment, prepare design documents and construction documents, support construction phase services both in office and in the field. Field work and site visits from planning through construction may require occasional travel. You will support and mentor junior engineers and will be supported by multiple senior mentors on projects and local and regional office leadership.
Responsibilities to include:
Working closely with a design team from initial studies and conceptual design through construction.
Working on water and wastewater projects, related to municipal facilities and infrastructure. Performing field work and site visits from design through construction.
Serving in project management roles.
Performing engineering activities for preliminary and detailed treatment process design, including review and analysis of system needs, utilizing hydraulic and hydrologic models, evaluating alternatives, and performing preliminary/detailed design.
Reviewing vendor information to assure compliance with specifications.
Performing equipment selection and prepares technical specifications.
Preparing engineering specifications, data sheets, sketches, drawings and performing engineering calculations.
Work may also include a variety of other water infrastructure, including conveyance and water resource systems.
Minimum professional qualifications:
B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
Professional Engineer in the state of New Mexico (or ability to obtain reciprocity)
5 years of professional experience
Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in all computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Strong organizational skills
