As anyone in the state will gladly tell you, NC has some of the best colleges in the nation, not to mention some of the most noteworthy. From the sprawling, stately UNC Chapel Hill and its history of academic excellence to the scrunched-up Appalachian State, which hosts a yearly Appalachian Energy Summit attended by industry experts, North Carolina colleges support a state-wide community of engaged learners and impressive researchers.

But with so many excellent schools to be found in the state, the question arises: which place is the best for college employees to work for?

We were curious — so, using company scores from websites that aggregate reviews like GlassDoor and Indeed as a baseline, we created our own list of some of the best colleges to work for in North Carolina. For this one, we decided to focus on Private Colleges, so if you went to a public university, don’t be surprised to find your alma mater is nowhere to be seen here.

The full list can be found further down, but first, here’s a quick top ten.
