X 5 Days WHAT YOU'LL DO Assist in the lay-out, fabrication and installation of gas distribution systems, which includes new construction and/or maintenance on various types of commercial, residential and industrial equipment. An Apprentice shall work in compliance with all Company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, safety standards and communicate in an effective, professional and courteous manner with all Company personnel, customers, contractors, developers, police/fire officials, other utility representatives, and members of the general public. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Individuals in this classification have minimal experience in the natural gas industry and will attend and successfully complete formal/informal training to be qualified to efficiently and effectively perform the duties and responsibilities listed below: Turn on and turn off gas services, appliances, and equipment. Read meters and meter instruments. Perform the duties of a line locator. Assist and/or perform the installation, removal, change-out or upgrade of service regulators and meter sets. Auld & White is looking for aspiring carpenters to join our team of apprentices. Apprentices will work full-time for Auld & White Constructors on construction projects learning through hands on construction. While working full-time for AWC, apprentices also take night classes twice per week through The Northeast Florida Builder's Association (NEFBA), to learn construction via instructors teaching NCCER curriculum. Select specified type of lumber or other materials under direction from craftspeople, lead carpenters and superintendent. Learn and use basic measuring tools used by the field craftspeople and identify various widths and lengths of lumber. Be able to carry out given instructions from craftspeople, lead carpenters and superintendent. Assist superintendent/lead carpenter with various carpentry tasks. Ensure workplace safety. Observe proper worksite safety procedures. Utilize tools and equipment in accordance with operating instructions/manuals. Report any safety hazards or potential hazards to supervisor. Notify super/lead of any safety concerns for employees or subcontractors. Turn signed work process cards in to NEFBA on a weekly basis. Attend Apprentice classes on a regular/timely basis. Stable job history Good references Dependable to be at work and on time, and have a reliable means of transportation to jobs throughout Northeast Florida.
