Job Description PURPOSE To provide maximum service to the members and cooperative by efficiently performing work in connection with the clearing and re-clearing of rights of way and assisting other functions of line services. To provide a plan of development under which an employee may advance in an orderly manner through the various degrees of apprenticeship. Climbs trees for trimming along energized high-voltage powerlines, as qualified. Climbs poles and performs pole-top rescue, as qualified. Sees that any vehicles, tools, equipment, and supplies assigned are properly used and kept in good condition. Uses safety equipment as needed and practices safe working habits. While operating a vehicle, complies with all traffic laws, safety rules and regulations, and safe practices, ensuring the safety of the vehicle, its occupants and load, bystanders, and the public. Observes and inspects powerlines and poles for hazardous conditions or other conditions that might cause a power failure. Accurately collects and reports inspection data. As qualified and as assigned, assists line crews during normal daily operations. As qualified, serves as a helper to Journeyman/Lineman during outage restoration events.
