Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Perform indoor and outdoor job responsibilities ranging from sedentary desk work to physical job duties with varying physical demands and exposure to seasonal weather conditions.

About the Role NHL Street is looking for energetic, positive, and hockey-loving coaches to lead youth floor hockey teams in a fun, fast-paced, and inclusive environment. As a Youth Floor Hockey Coach, you'll help kids learn the fundamentals of the game, build confidence, and experience the excitement of NHL-style play - all while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the sport.
What You'll Do
* Create a safe, encouraging, and high-energy team environment.
* Teach age-appropriate floor hockey skills, drills, and basic gameplay strategies.
* Support teamwork, fair play, and character development on and off the court.
* Ensure equal playing time and opportunities for all participants.
* Communicate clearly with parents and guardians regarding schedules, updates, and expectations.
* Model respectful behavior toward referees, opponents, teammates, and families.
* Work alongside league staff and fellow coaches to uphold NHL Street rules, culture, and values.
* Interact regularly with players, families, and the community as a visible ambassador of NHL Street.

Required Skills & Experience
* Basic understanding of floor hockey rules, techniques, and safety standards.
* Enthusiasm for working with children in a positive, team-based setting.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to run drills, officiate scrimmages, and stay actively involved throughout practices and games.
* Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Expectations
* Comfortable running, throwing, catching, and engaging fully in youth sports activities.
* Able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, or squat for extended periods.
* Capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 20 lbs.
