What Your Day Could Consist Of: Design Conceptualization and Development
Support the creation and development of design concepts across various project types.
Produce diagrams, digital models, presentation materials, and other production work to bring ideas to life.
Design Review and Critique
Collaborate with the team to review and provide feedback on early-phase design concepts, contributing to their refinement.
Documentation and Technical Support
Assist in the production of design development documents, construction models, and detailed drawings.
Contribute to the preparation of construction details in accordance with project specifications.
Research and Innovation

Stakeholder Presentations

Compensation:
The projected salary range for this opportunity is $77,370 - $89,778 annually, and may be more or less depending on skills, experience and education.

As a Structural Project Designer you will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects. They will be responsible for working closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include engineering analysis, design and implementation oversight of structural systems for buildings and other structures. This position will be expected to work within the project's monetary budget, train, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
Some key duties and responsibilities include:
Lead efforts for the analysis and design of structural systems using a variety of building materials; Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards;
Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication;
Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Lead efforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives; Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended;

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals;

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:
Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications;
Strong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in mechanics and materials, load paths, design techniques, design standards including steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and structures;
Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff;
Proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools including structural engineering design and analysis software;

Education and experience requirements are:
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required;
Master's Degree (MS) in Structural Engineering preferred;
Engineering In Training (EIT) Certification preferred;
3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry;
OR
Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred;
7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry;
