About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to support store modernization initiatives for a leading U.S. retailer. This role focuses on testing and refining low-voltage control room designs as part of a large-scale refresh project. You will create accurate layouts and documentation that ensure compliance with design standards and operational requirements.
Job Description
As a CAD Designer, you will:
Develop and update control room plan sets using CAD standards and design conventions.
Document existing conditions and convert site photos into precise layouts, including ladder racks, MDF/IDF cabinets, UPS systems, and grounding bars.
Lay out and label equipment such as racks, junction boxes, ladder racking, UPS placement, camera locations, and voice/data drops.
Produce single-phase and three-phase line diagrams aligned with store requirements.
Apply low-voltage design standards for structured cabling, MDF/IDF requirements, pathways, and device drops.
Ensure proper clearances, cable routing, and equipment access in all designs.
Incorporate store-specific needs such as paging, wireless, and external equipment placements.
Collaborate with engineers, electrical contractors, and deployment teams to refine layouts.
Integrate feedback, resolve design conflicts, and maintain documentation quality.
Communicate assumptions and constraints clearly to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Required:
3-5+ years of experience in low-voltage design, telecom room layout, or structured cabling design.
Proficiency in Autodesk/Revit or equivalent CAD software.
Ability to interpret electrical, architectural, and low-voltage drawings.
Familiarity with telecom room components: ladder racking, MDF/IDF cabinets, UPS systems (single & three phase), grounding, and junction boxes.

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software required
Familiar with Autodesk Cloud and Autodesk Build environments required
Experience drafting low voltage systems (structured cabling, DAS, Wi-Fi, security, or similar) preferred
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders
Strong organizational skills to maintain project file structure, drawing and document historical filing
Dynamo and programing experience a plus but not required

Bloomington, MN - Hybrid | Direct Hire | $95k - $110k Konik is partnering with an Architectural and Engineering firm in the Twin Cities South Metro, seeking a Project Architect to add to their growing firm. As a Project Architect, you will oversee and act in all phases of a project, from programming, design, and documentation to construction administration for various building types, including educational, commercial, and industrial / manufacturing.
Project Architect Responsibilities:
Client interaction
Leads and is involved with schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
Communicate with consultants, owners, and contractors
Reviews documents for quality control evaluations
Coordinates and maintains project schedules
Responsible for RFI's, submittals, and change orders
Develops, modifies, and reviews production drawings and construction documents using Revit
Reviews building codes
Project Architect Qualifications:
A Master's or Bachelor of Architecture Degree. Licensure in Minnesota or a track to become licensed.
10+ years of experience working in an architectural firm on education and commercial project types
Strong verbal and written communication and organization skills
Proficient with Revit
Strong understanding of the constructability of design, exterior, and interior details
Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Your Role
As a Summer Architecture Intern at Gensler, you will join our creative studio environment for a full-time, paid internship opportunity.
This is a full-time program running from June 2nd through August 7th. You must be available for the entire duration of the program.
What You Will Do
Work on architecture projects as a fully collaborative member of a design team, participating in design charrettes to help define strategic goals for our clients, large or small
Receive hands-on learning and collaborate with designers, architects, directors, and managers to plan, design, develop and gain real-world experience working with clients across a spectrum of industries and locations
Enjoy the rich culture of our office and firm through educational sessions and mentorship opportunities that include lunch-and-learns, lectures, project tours and vendor presentations
Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and technical drawings
Build physical study models and presentation models
Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts
Your Qualifications
You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture; NAAB accredited program highly preferred
You have completed your third year of an undergraduate program or first year of a graduate program and are returning to your program post-internship. This internship is not for recent graduates.
Experience using Revit or Rhino ; AutoCAD, and/or BIM modeling software a plus
3-D computer rendering skills (Enscape, V-ray, Sketch Up, 3-D Max, and/or other modeling software)
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook and Bluebeam
Your Additional Characteristics
Demonstrated leadership ability in school and/or community
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
Resourceful, self-motivated, enthusiastic team player
Outstanding analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
