WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
Knowledge of tree species identification, hazard tree assessment, invasive species management, and understanding of tree growth patterns.
Ability to hike/walk Right-of-Ways (ROW's) and drive for extended periods of time.
Knowledgeable about Utility Vegetation Management practices.
Experience with GIS software/technology as well as Microsoft Suite and an iPhone.
Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities and show attention to detail.
Must be able to adapt to change.
WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:

Location and Travel:
This position is on-site 4 days/week in either our Livonia, MI or Fairfield, OH locations.
Travel up to 50% during budgeting season; 1-2 times per month outside of budgeting season
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Oversight of monthly/quarterly/annual financials including month-end close, cost accounting and allocations, management reports, forecasting, and WIP. Primary point of contact for issues/questions raised by field administrative staff for financial systems-related questions.
Responsible for all budgeting processes. Partners with area VP and company leaders to develop achievable budgets within targeted guidelines. Enter the budgets into the appropriate ERP systems.
Subject matter expert with regards to rolling out and implementing/maintaining new systems, such as Aspire. Proactively searches for and shares best practices and develops implementation strategies.
Effectively produces and presents monthly financial reports, such as P&L reports, as well as month and YTD statements. Works with area VP and company leaders to develop narratives to support positive and negative variances to budget. Assists in production of actionable go-forward plans to close any gaps.
Partner with other functional departments to develop gather specific budgetary information such as compensation and rewards, fleet depreciation and disposal, and sales and renewal goals.
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus
5 or more years of finance and accounting experience
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and advanced formulas and intermediate skills in word-processing required.
Experience with ERP systems, PeopleSoft and Aspire preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate quantitative information verbally and in writing to audiences with varying levels of financial sophistication.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to multi-task and to work collaboratively and cooperatively, as a member of a team. Must be organized and able to set priorities and to ensure timely completion of responsibilities. Able to work in a high-traffic area with frequent interruptions. Crew Leader
The Crew Leader is responsible for directly supervising a crew while on the job site and ensuring the crew works safely and efficiently while delivering quality jobs on time. This position is responsible for developing and training crew members, planning, assigning and directing work, managing and maintaining material and equipment, and addressing and resolving customer issues. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Work with management to create schedules and follow job specifications, including materials and timelines.
Organizes, supervises, leads and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframe.
Ensures contractual obligations are fulfilled in a manner that is in line with proper horticultural practices.
Complies with equipment preventative maintenance program.
Inspects each job site weekly and maintains punch lists given by manager while on site.
Identifies ways to improve work processes, efficiency, and quality.
Communicates with onsite clients as outlined in communication plan.
Responds properly to the client's requests; follows up to make sure their needs have been met.
Keeps manager aware of all client concerns and communication on the job site.
Maintains safe working conditions on job site at all times; follows and implements all company safety guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years-of-age or older.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English; bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
Ability to train others and exercise leadership skills.
Demonstrates dependability; consistently at work and on time, responds to management direction and commits to the required hours for job completion that will vary based on weather/season.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to solve conflict while keeping emotions under control.
Ability to plan, organize and direct a team in a manner that uses time efficiently.
Has the aptitude to identify and act on opportunities to help and support work efforts of the team.
Can safely operate and maintain all equipment used for landscape maintenance.
Education & Experience
Minimum of two years of professional landscape maintenance experience.
High school diploma or GED required.
Current State Technician and/or Applicator license preferred but not required.
General knowledge of irrigation systems.
General knowledge of horticultural and maintenance practices.

Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc., to protect employees and safeguard the public from hazards. In emergencies, determines action to be taken to eliminate hazards to life and property.
Inspects and makes or provides for necessary repairs to tools, trucks, and other equipment.
Maintains good housekeeping on the truck and at work location.
Responsible for DOT maintenance and inspection requirements on all required vehicles.
