Job DescriptionAssembler: Freeport, IllinoisOur customer in Freeport, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We're hiring Assemblers to work full-time on 2nd shift. As an Assembler, you will assemble part kits, set up and operate machinery, and maintain quality and safety standards in the production environment.
Responsibilities of the Assembler:
Assemble part kits and fit components into complete assemblies.
Set up, operate, and dismantle unit assembly and subassembly workstations.
Operate conventional, special purpose, and NC machines to fabricate and assemble parts.
Verify dimensions, alignment, and conformance of finished assemblies to specifications.
Follow all standard work, control plans, quality guidelines, and Total Productive Environment (TPE) activities.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area, following all safety regulations.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production goals.
Apply problem-solving skills and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Use personal tools as required and perform minor repairs on assemblies.
Assembler Requirements and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
1-3 months related experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds throughout the shift.
Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Perform assembly, fitting, filing, reaming, riveting, crimping, swaging, and adjusting operations
Use a variety of light machine tools such as drill press, arbor press, air and hydraulic presses and simple die sets, riveting machine hand tools
Trims and files parts to fit, and verifies fitting tolerances, using measuring instruments, such as gauges and calipers
Uses micrometers, force gauges, calipers, torque wrenches, dial indicators, and other types of precision measuring tools and equipment
Work with team members to layout, fabricate, assemble, and modify jet engine assembly or test articles, test stands, equipment, and support systems
Operate a wide variety of tools to assemble a jet engine or operate support utilities to run the test article
Work with team members in setting up the test stand, and preparing and mounting the test article per procedure
Prepare test article for proper storage and transportation
Work with team members and supervisor when necessary
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Three years or more experience in mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
Experience using wrenches, calipers, micrometers, air levels, drills, taps, hand grinder, torque wrench
Experience in operating crane, forklift, scissor lifts
Ability to read assembly and detailed mechanical drawings, fluid schemes, blueprints
Knowledge of mechanical, schematics, hydraulics and pneumatics
Ability to read assembly tolerance requirements and identify the correct tools to meet requirements
Strong mechanical aptitude
Experience working in large machinery

POSITION SUMMARY
Pack Operators are responsible for working safely and completing 5S assignments, as well as using standard work processes for packing, filling and labeling cylinders in a productive manner in order to meet daily customer demands. In addition, Pack Operators will be expected to inspect parts for quality and correctness to ensure proper parts are being packed.
