Duties/Responsibilities: * Fabricate and construct custom stock assemblies by performing the following: plasma cutting, welding, soldering, grinding, painting, electrical wiring, fabricating hose and tubing to various sizes, using general hand and power tools, as well as performing various diagnostic and trouble-shooting practices. * Interact and take direction from the Assembly Division Coordinator and management team for scheduling and prioritizing assembly projects and methods to use in completing tasks. * Use calculators and charts to determine appropriate components to be used in some assemblies. * Document new and changed custom assemblies through the use of digital cameras, computers, scanners, faxes, and electronic drawings in conjunction with applications engineering. * Testing completed units to the prescribed standards as required and specified by customers. Job Description The Engineering Technician is responsible for optimizing current manufacturing processes, equipment, and practices to ensure sustainability and continuous improvement of WPP facilities. Duties and Responsibilities Lead, support and provide guidance on continuous improvement and facility related capital projects (i.e. process flow, change overs, lean manufacturing, value-stream mapping, new equipment, etc.) Support in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes and practices. Anticipate problems by spending time on floor, inspecting lines regularly, learning from plant personnel, tracking and analyzing and correcting process conditions, and supporting productions reporting. Develop, train, and audit standardized work to support manufacturing practices. Establish consistent processes using a collaborative approach with manufacturing and engineering personnel. Professionally develop capital project proposals to be electronically submitted to the executive team. Initiate day-to-day troubleshooting and long-term problem solving. Support product development through process concepts, tools and line coverage. Develop methods to communicate with key stakeholders. Follow available engineering standards with new equipment designs and upgrades. Validate and manage feeder and material handling parameters and alarms. Inspect, track and analyze screws and barrels in accordance with WPP Program. Review, edit and create work instructions, controlled documentation, energy control documents, etc. Offer line side and work place transformation solutions. Research and make recommendations regarding preventative maintenance details & schedule for equipment. Support and implement Process FMEA program. Support or lead safety, quality, cost, energy or general risk reduction initiatives. Collaborates with other facilities across WPP to ensure consistency. Qualifications Technical degree in engineering or related field preferred, but relevant equivalent experience may be considered Experience with project management 5+ years in a manufacturing setting 2+ years of experience in the plastics extrusion/compounding or injection molding industry Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with ability and desire to communicate well in both written and verbal forms. Must be willing and able to travel to customer sites, vendors, company divisions and trainings as requested, approximately 10%. Skilled in the use of basic computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel, learn and use systems for operations and maintenance. Working Conditions Office & Manufacturing environment.

Full-time Description Constructs custom assemblies and fabricates value-added assembly items as needed by customers and for stock. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Fabricate and construct custom stock assemblies by performing the following: plasma cutting, welding, soldering, grinding, painting, electrical wiring, fabricating hose and tubing to various sizes, using general hand and power tools, as well as performing various diagnostic and trouble-shooting practices. Interact and take direction from the Assembly Division Coordinator and management team for scheduling and prioritizing assembly projects and methods to use in completing tasks. Use calculators and charts to determine appropriate components to be used in some assemblies. Document new and changed custom assemblies through the use of digital cameras, computers, scanners, faxes, and electronic drawings in conjunction with applications engineering. Testing completed units to the prescribed standards as required and specified by customers. Requirements Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Mechanical Aptitude a plus. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Troubleshoot and repair to the component level returned products and equipment. • Clean any contamination from returned products and equipment. • After repair, test equipment to final specifications. • Update associated returns database and paperwork per procedures. • Assist in the receipt of returned units, updating the database, and processing paperwork. • Comply with all safety requirements and procedures. Qualifications • The candidate must have a broad electronics knowledge base, excellent problem solving skills, employ self-motivation, and function proficiently in a team environment. • The candidate should have direct computer experience, with working knowledge in Excel and Word; knowledge of Salesforce database a plus. • Trouble shooting and root cause analysis experience needed. • Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and concepts a plus. • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. • Associates Degree in electronics is required. Additional Information The shift is 1st - 8am to 4:30pm with offered Overtime. The pay rate is $28/HR.
