Candidates applying at the Assistant Professor level should demonstrate strong teaching, evidence of scholarly potential, and the ability to develop a high-quality research agenda. Applicants for the Associate Professor level are expected to have an established record of scholarly publications, effective teaching experience, and evidence of professional or academic service. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to both undergraduate and graduate programs, engage in research that advances the field of marketing, and participate actively in departmental and university service. Candidates with a strong commitment to student success and collegial collaboration are especially encouraged to apply. As the Assistant or Associate Professor, Marketing you will teach marketing courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as applicable. The teaching load for this position will be up to three courses per semester with the possibility of summer teaching assignments. You will be required to produce scholarly output that allows you to be classified as "Scholarly Academic" according to the LCOB faculty classification. In addition to the teaching and research obligations, you will participate in service activities and/or initiatives that support the mission of the LCOB and FGCU. Additional Job Description Required Qualifications: * Ph.D. in Marketing from an AACSB accredited university program or equivalent accreditation. * ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 7, 2026. If successful candidate is ABD, appointment will be made at a Lecturer level on a fixed contract. * Candidates for an Associate Professor rank must show strong track record of scholarly publications and at a minimum be ranked as "Scholarly Academic" according to the LCOB guidelines for faculty classifications. * Candidates for an Associate Professor rank must show a strong record of teaching effectiveness. Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated record of publishing in leading peer-reviewed journals in Marketing. * Research and teaching experience in the areas of digital marketing and/or AI. * Relevant business experience in digital marketing and/or AI. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Knowledge of major concepts, assumptions, debates, processes of inquiry, and ways of knowing that are central to the discipline(s). * Understanding how to use digital and interactive technologies for efficiently and effectively achieving specific learning goals. * Knowledge of critical thinking processes and understanding how to help learners develop high level questioning skills. * Knowledge and skill in the use of inquiry-based instructional models and strategies. * Knowledge and ability to use technology in various teaching modalities (e.g. Face-to-face, synchronous online or asynchronous online). * Ability to collaborate with stakeholders both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction, resulting in improved student learning.
