Knox College seeks an Assistant Professor of Economics. This is a full time, tenure track position. The Assistant Professor of Economics will teach and engage students in active learning research opportunities with an emphasis on civic engagement. Required to teach a six-course teaching load (two courses in each of three 10-week terms) that includes courses in the candidate's area of expertise, but also introductory and intermediate level micro or macroeconomics as well as courses that contribute to the general liberal arts curriculum. Salary: $75,370.00 to $77,370.00 Requirements: Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Economics, or related quantitative field. ABD candidates in Economics or a related quantitative field will also be considered if the degree is conferred by the time the appointment begins. Prior experience teaching undergraduates. Specializations and teaching interests in labor economics, health economics, economics of inequality, feminist economics, game theory, behavioral economics, or economic history.

Employ a well-defined procedure for evaluating student progress. Enforce College regulations concerning student behavior and building regulations. QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree (or higher) in the discipline or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is required. Minimum 18 hours graduate credit beyond the bachelor's degree may be considered for provisional teaching. [This is for those who have Masters in one discipline and want to teach in another, or for someone who is currently working on a Masters and wishes to teach.] Must have demonstrated teaching competence in field of instruction. Demonstrated ability to use technology in teaching is required. Familiarity with basic online academic technology,such as Canvas is preferred. Experience in teaching in field of instruction is preferred. Two years of college teaching with community college experience in field of instruction is preferred.
