A day in the life
We're using advanced approaches such as foundation models to connect information about our videos and customers from a variety of information sources, acquiring and processing data sets on a scale that only a few companies in the world can match. This will enable us to recommend titles effectively, even when we don't have a large behavioral signal (to tackle the cold-start title problem). It will also allow us to find our customer's niche interests, helping them discover groups of titles that they didn't even know existed. We are looking for creative & customer obsessed machine learning scientists who can apply the latest research, state of the art algorithms and ML to build highly scalable page personalization solutions. You'll be a research leader in the space and a hands-on ML practitioner, guiding and collaborating with talented teams of engineers and scientists and senior leaders in the Prime Video organization. You will also have the opportunity to publish your research at internal and external conferences.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of building models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience

The expected hiring range for a Consulting Research Associate II is $75,700.00 - $102,350.00 depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; performance history; and work location. The bonus target for this position is 10%. The current full salary range for this role is $71,000.00 to $116,000.00.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Prepare experimental recipes as directed by the Senior Chemist
Follow experimental strategies and designs as directed by the Senior Chemist
Perform chemical analysis at the direction of the Senior Chemist or the analytical chemistry team
Participate in experimental strategy sessions and project reviews
Conduct directed and self-directed literature reviews focusing on topics of industrial interest
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning
Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures and results
Collaborate with other members of the research team to achieve research goals
Communicate research findings to the Senior Chemist and other members of the research team
Prioritize laboratory safety, green chemistry, and sustainable industrial practices
Provide vocal feedback throughout the research process
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field and/or 2+ years demonstrable experience in chemical synthesis/functionalization projects
Laboratory experience involving biochemistry and/or biopolymers
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills specific to a laboratory setting
Positive attitude towards sustainable and green practices
Ability to work independently and creatively in a scientific environment

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Most of the work is performed in a laboratory environment. Sitting or standing for long periods may be required. The ability to hear, smell, and move freely is critical to the safety for this role. Proper PPE is required.

The Nondestructive Assay (NDA) organization provides NDA support throughout the CPCCo project, and is responsible for the certification, and technical validity of NDA systems, procedures, and data. We also support HMIS Safeguards and Security Measurement Control and Accountability (MC&A), Criticality Safety, Nuclear Safety, and waste management requirements.
The responsibilities of the NDA Scientist include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Performing NDA technical measurement oversight, NDA data quantification and qualification, and NDA quality assurance validation.
* Providing planning assistance for NDA capabilities required for D&D activities for D4 End States (D4ES) and other Hanford Projects as needed.
* Providing direction and oversight to HAMTC bargaining unit personnel.
* Understanding the Waste Projects and Operations waste acceptance criteria.
Basic Qualifications
* Senior Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 6 or more years of relevant experience
* Principal Level Grade 19: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 8 or more years of relevant experience.
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience
Desired Qualifications
* Familiarity with the setup and use of gamma spectroscopy or other NDA equipment.
* Knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: Statistics, Radiochemistry, Electronics, Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Safety, and Quality Assurance.
* Familiarity with commercial NDA Software.

Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
Career Level Grade 18: $94,750 - $151,800
Career Level Grade 19: $104,200 - $166,650
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
