+ Briefs Detention Officers during muster and post checks regarding any changes in Post Orders, or any unusual or emergency situations
+ Conducts on-the-job training to correct deficiencies in Detention Officer Performance, or to strengthen and refresh Detention Officer knowledge of critical skills and issues.
+ Reports any emergency situation to the COTR and AGS Security management.
+ Conducts administrative investigations of policy violations to include personal injury and traffic accidents.
+ Document incidents with complete and accurate verbal and written reports.
+ Reviews the sign-in/out sheets to ensure proper timekeeping by Detention Officers.
+ Manages break schedules and ensuring that all Detention Officers receive breaks and proper relief.
+ Provides oversight and management and direct reporting of detainee counts.
+ Assists detention officers to deal with any incident of disturbance or lack of cooperation from a detainee.
+ Inspect every area of the facility where detainees are present, at least once per shift.
+ Assumes duties of Captain in Captain's absence.
**Operations:**
+ Responsible for the operational functions and duties required in operating a detention center; including detention, processing, administration and transportation operations as required in the contract.
+ Provides effective leadership and supervision of all subordinate personnel.
+ Schedules adequate staffing for all assigned posts and assure that minimum manning standards are maintained.
+ Ensures duties are accomplished as directed in the contract. Perform other duties as assigned.
**Reporting:**
+ Furnishes a manifest of all detainees under Supervisory Detention Officer's jurisdiction and ensure the safe and effective control of all detainees in the facility, 24 hours a day.
+ Provides other written and oral reports as required or needed.
**Leadership/ Supervision:**
+ Inspires and motivates employees to perform duties to ensure contract compliance.
+ Ensures Detention Officers are trained on the expectations and requirements of their duties.
+ Provide timely and ongoing feedback on employee job performance.
+ Motivates and provides recognition to exemplary employees.
+ Disciplines detention officers who are negligent or disregard standard operating procedures, policies, standards, regulations and/or contractual requirements.
+ Participate in interviewing candidates for detention officer positions.
**Quality Assurance:**
+ Enforces American Correctional Association (ACA) and ICE National Detention Standards, policies, procedures and orders related to the custody, care and treatment of detainees.
+ Conducts daily quality assurance inspections of their areas of responsibility, including detention facilities, grounds, posts, equipment, uniforms and knowledge of post orders, ACA and ICE National Detention Standards and current policies, procedures and regulations of all subordinate contract personnel.
+ Documents findings of the inspections on approved forms and checklists by the end of the shift.
+ Corrects discrepancies on-the-spot as appropriate.
+ Responsible for the effective and efficient control, operation and security of the detention facility.
**Qualifications**
+ Must have a minimum of one year of experience as a detention officer and two years of successful experience in field supervision (civilian law enforcement, commercial or industrial guard service, or security service supervisory position).
+ The two-year requirement may be satisfied by completion of a career development program that includes work-related experience, training, or college credits at a level of achievement equivalent to the basic requirement.
+ US citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence and have resided in the U.S. for the last five years.
+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
+ Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
+ Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
+ Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests.
+ Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements.
+ At least 21 years of age.

+ Performs duties related to the detention, processing, safeguarding, security, escort and transport of detainees as required by the contract.
+ Exercises surveillance and control over detainees maintains order and discipline.

+ Removes detainees from holding areas using proper restraints and security measures.
