ORGANIZATION MISSION:
The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay is to provide high-quality, out-of-school Club experiences to ensure the young people of Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas County, especially those who need us most, are on track to graduate from high school with a plan for their future, demonstrate good character & citizenship, and live a healthy lifestyle.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide tutoring, academic enrichment, and remedial education services to targeted Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay members.
The Teacher is a key member of Club programs that will provide tutoring & literacy instruction, focusing on the Club members who need educational support the most. The individual will be responsible for working closely with the Literacy Director and Coordinator while implementing the established literacy program at his/her designated Boys & Girls Club location. The Teacher will use a combination of hands-on games & activities in all content areas, as well as an established technology-based reading program for small group and/or individual interventions.
The Teacher should be familiar with reading research, standards, assessments, & evidence-based strategies to identify gaps, support growth, and plan for individual and small group instruction using data provided from the established program.
This position is after school, part time, for up to 15 hours a week.
Training in Social/Emotional Learning and/or Trauma Informed Care is a plus.
KEY ROLES:
• Create a child centered literacy environment.
• Develop and maintain rapport with all stakeholders including students, families, and club staff.
• Maximize student learning time using effective time management strategies.
• Facilitate the integration of reading skills/strategies/technology into the Club environment.
• Demonstrate evidence-based reading/ literacy and Math strategies.
• Use provided data sources to plan, implement and evaluate student progress; use data to evaluate reading instruction and practices.
• Assist in formal and informal data collection processes.
• Communicate using multiple means in a professional manner. Ex. text, email, written, and oral.
• Encourage lifelong learning and cross-curricular use of literacy (STEM, Art, Music, etc.)
• Attend and participate in all required meetings.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club Staff (professional, part-time and volunteers), Club members, and supervisor
External: Maintains contact with schools, members' parents and others to assist in developing positive relationships, communicating educational progress/needs, and resolving problems.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Reading/Education from an accredited college or university. State of Florida Teachers Certificate required.
• Valid state teaching certification.
• An understanding of explicit instruction
• Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs.
• Knowledge of the practices and principles of non-profit organizations a plus.
• Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems in collaboration with others.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, subordinates, board members, community groups and other related agencies.
• Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Child and Club Safety is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of all club members and staff. This role involves managing risk assessments, emergency preparedness, transportation and compliance with safety regulations across all Boys & Girls Club locations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIIES:
Safety Protocol Development
Implement and oversee comprehensive safety policies and procedures for all club facilities and programs.
Ensure all safety protocols comply with local, state, federal, and BGCA regulations.
Regularly review and update safety procedures to address new risks and regulatory changes.
Risk Management
Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement strategies to mitigate risks.
Oversee emergency response plans, including fire drills, lockdown procedures, and evacuation plans.
Investigate incidents and accidents, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken.
Training and Education
Provide training to staff on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and risk management.
Ensure all staff are knowledgeable about and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
Develop educational programs for club members on personal safety and emergency preparedness.
COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrated ability to identify potential hazards and conduct thorough investigations of accidents/ incidents in a timely fashion.
Knowledge of BGCA safety standards, regulations, and membership requirements to ensure full organizational adherence.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree or a combination of education and experience.
3-5 years previous experience with Boys & Girls Clubs Operations or experience with a similar nonprofit organization.

15% Facilities and Property Maintenance

Tracks consumable materials to facilitate loss prevention.
Informs PRODIGY Site Manager when materials need to be ordered or replaced.
Reports any damaged or broken equipment to PRODIGY Site Manager.
