* Database Administration
* This position manages and maintains over 200,000+ prospective student records annually. Determine processes and procedures within the system for the entire office, and select campus partners, to follow. Provides annual update and maintenance to the system, as well as ongoing training for key users on staff. Oversees rules and permissions for users. Creates data share and implementation processes with vendors, chief among them, the Common Application. This role builds and launches Elon's online applications for all undergraduate student populations (first-year, transfer, special), and updates applications that are housed on third-party websites. Releases all admission and scholarship decisions - maintains oversight of the Acorn Account, which serves prospective students as their primary portal for information exchange and document submission through the admissions process. Creates all event landing pages, communication for registrants, and post-event evaluations. Lastly, this role creates reports to track progress of key recruitment initiatives.
* Fellows Program Liaison
* This role works closely with the university's eight Honors and Fellows Programs. This position creates the online application, receives submissions and supporting materials, and distributes them to Fellow's directors across campus. The Slate Captain ensures all Fellows decisions are accurately captured and communicated to students each spring and creates scholarship agreements to track yield for each program. Manages a number of reports in Slate for admissions leadership and campus partners to track application numbers to the programs, Fellows Weekend registration numbers, and response rates to offers.
* Supervision
* This role supervises the Data and Research Analyst for Admissions and Coordinator for Admissions Systems and Technology. This includes hiring, training, and professional development of these individuals. Additionally, this role conducts performance evaluations for each and provides ongoing coaching through regular meetings.
* Reporting/AI Integration
* Develop reporting tools that will be distributed among enrollment divisions and partners from across campus. Create systems for enrollment partners to gather information from matriculating students through the admissions portal (Acorn Account). Lead discussion and integration of AI tools to optimize Slate.
* Enrollment Partner and Vendor Support
* Provide occasional support to enrollment vendors and third-party organizations. This could include data transfers through SFTP processes, establishing websites, and sharing digital assets for outreach to prospective students and their families.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Event Captain supports the Event Services Manager in overseeing day-of event operations for private gatherings at the Peace Center. This role ensures seamless execution, coordinates event logistics, and helps deliver an exceptional experience for guests and clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Include, but are not limited to)
Directly responsible to the Event Services Manager for the performance of all hourly event staff, and personal representative of the Peace Center to clients and vendors.
Provides ongoing direction, supervision and monitoring of event staff.
Inspect the set-up of the Event space, checking them against the Banquet Event Order and floorplan.
Assist with coordination day of logistics including load-in, set-up, execution and breakdown of events.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all FOH and BOH Event Spaces during/after each event.
Work closely with the Beverage Manager to maintain bar/beverage standards at each event.
Observe all company safety and security policies to ensure safety of self, event guests, vendors and coworkers.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship between clients, vendors, and the Peace Center.
Completing the Event Captains Report after each event.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Works as assigned by the Barge Foreman to ensure the successful completion of on-going or new marine construction projects.

Supervises crew members during vessel operating procedures and in demurrage ensuring company safety and environmental policies are followed.
Maintains proper and valid vessel documentation on board vessel and ensures that all required reports and logs are completed accurately.
Operates the tugboat and barge while these vessels are in transit to and from marine project locations in a safe and efficient manner.
Demonstrates ability to maneuver, position, turn, slow, stop vessels as required by the field operation.
Utilizes various hand signals for communicating with flagman on the barge deck.
Utilizes tie-up ropes and wires to secure the tugboat to barges for towing purposes.
Practices the "Rules of the Road" for operating vessels on inland waterways.
Utilizes radio equipment on the tugboat to communicate with the U.S. Coast Guard, ships, tugboats, etc.
Performs daily safety inspections of the tugboat and recognizes possible problem areas such as hull leaks, packing-gland leaking, tie-up cables and ropes, steering cables, wires, etc.
Performs minor maintenance as may be required and understands basic functions of the boat engine, transmission, generator, water pump, cooling system, etc.
Works closely with the General Foreman, Barge Foreman, Crane Operators, Welders, Helpers, and other skilled crafts persons to complete current projects in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensures participation in Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance with State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.
Coordinates and maintains vessel maintenance and is responsible for keeping maintenance records up to date.
Ensures general overall condition and upkeep of the vessel at all times.
Directs crew members in preparation of tow, assembly of the towing rig, inspection, maintenance, and security of tow during transit.
Conducts a fire and boat drill at least weekly with an entry in the vessel's official logbook relative to each fire and boat drill setting forth the date and hour length and time of drill.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of three (3) years Boat Captain Experience and 100-ton master boat license for tugboat is required. The incumbent must:
Know the "Rules of the Road" for operating vessels on inland waterways.
Be proficient in the use of radio equipment on the tugboat to communicate with the U.S. Coast Guard, ships, tugboats, etc.
Be knowledgeable in the use of tie-up ropes and wires to secure the tugboat and recognizing possible problem areas.
Be adept in the proper use, donning, and doffing of negative pressure respirators, positive pressure and/or SCBA respiratory equipment.
Be familiar with the specific types of vessel operating procedures and procedures for making horsepower/tow decisions.
Have knowledge of required vessel documentation and ensure that proper and valid documentation is carried aboard vessels.
Know and have the ability to safely direct the safe and careful handling of fuel and other pollutants by the crew. Responsible for pursuing aggressive pollution prevention.
Be proficient in vessel inspection procedures/ conducting in-house inspections and record keeping on a frequent basis.

POSITION SNAPSHOT: Our Captain position ensures Guests' initial impressions with Dave & Buster's are positive and welcoming. The Captain's position requires a strong communicator who will guide our Guests through their Midway, retail, game rental and dining experiences. Our Captains also act as an initial point of contact in the enforcement of house policies and maintaining the safety and security of the unit.

Delivers an unparalleled Guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks and games in an ideal environment for celebrating all out fun.
Acts as an initial point of contact in matters concerning safety and security in all areas: front door, Viewpoints, Midway, bar areas, kitchen and back of house areas, dining areas, private event rooms and restrooms.
Acts as ambassador to the building, assisting Guests with all requests and answers questions as needed.
Greets Guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while performing multiple job functions. Smiles and greets Guests upon entering.
Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.
Provides timely and accurate service while managing wait times and communicating information as needed to Guests, Team Members and Managers.
Competently diffuses difficult Guest situations while protecting the integrity and safety of our staff, building and house policies.
Assists with the maintenance and upkeep of the Viewpoint and Midway areas.
Assists in the cleanliness and organization of the rental equipment. Ensures all billiard supplies are stocked, properly cleaned and maintained to maximize costs and decrease loss.
Checks for restocking of necessary supplies. Brings all areas up to standard.
Assists in the rental of Billiards and Shuffleboards, maintaining and resetting the area after each use.
Assists with the set up and break down of special events functions as directed by management.
Provides game assistance by promptly notifying Support Technicians or Management as needed.
Assists and directs Guests to Kiosk areas and answer questions as needed.
Ensures that our Guests adhere to house policies as outlined and informs management of any issues.
Bids farewell to Guests leaving. Ensures everything was satisfactory and invites Guests to return.
Assists other Team Members as needed or as business dictates.
Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company Team Members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that will be conducive to maximum Team Member morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness.
Is dressed in accordance with dress guidelines, looking neat, clean and professional at all times.
Must demonstrate ability to read and communicate in English.
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Qualifications:
Certifications: US Coast Guard Master's license or equivalent
Experience: Minimum of five years previous experience in boat operation and supervision, preferably in a school or youth program setting
Be able to pass a drug screen
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work with students of varying ages
Knowledge: Familiarity with local waterways, boating regulations, and safety protocols
Other responsibilities may include:
Dock and undock the vessel
Stand watch on the vessel
Inspect the vessel for safety and efficiency
Maintain the boat's systems, such as engines, winches, and fire extinguishers
Assist with maritime rescue operations
Report violations of pilotage laws
Perform marine duties, such as checking for pollutants
Essential Duties:
Vessel Operation: Safely operate school boats for educational outings, regattas, and extracurricular activities
Safety Management: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including conducting safety briefings, maintaining life-saving equipment, and ensuring the crew and passengers wear life jackets
Navigation: Plan and execute navigation routes, accounting for weather conditions and tides
Crew Supervision: Train and supervise student crew members, promoting teamwork and skill development
Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the vessels, performing routine checks and coordinating repairs as needed
Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for parents, school administration, and regulatory bodies regarding boating activities
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency procedures, ensuring all crew and participants are familiar with them
Event Coordination: Assist in organizing events and competitions, including scheduling and logistics
Performs additional related duties as required by the supervisor
