It's an exciting time to join Baker Tilly! We are looking for a Senior Manager to join and oversee our Client Accounting Services (CAS) practice.
This role will manage all phases of engagement planning and administration for large, complex engagements as well as concurrent engagements. This includes assisting in the effective management of the engagement's staff. Extensive knowledge and application of a specific professional field in an area such as finance, information technology, operations management, supply chain management, employee benefits, public-sector utilities, etc., is required to perform this job. The work is performed within a complex professional field in which information is often not readily available, requiring the highest-level of understanding of a specific professional field. Independent judgment and discretion are required and the work is complex and varied.
Serve the Client - understand and exceed our client's needs both internal and external.
Plan and manage multiple large projects, programs and engagements independently and autonomously. Identify project risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans. Effectively leverage the roles of engagement Partner/Principal, quality management and subject matter resources in planning, executing, and managing project/engagement activities. Effectively manage the overall financial health of the project.
Lead the project / engagement staffing process based on client needs, staff development, availability, and skill requirements. Where appropriate, engage “hands-on” in the development of deliverables and other work packages. Review deliverables with project team members and provide constructive feedback.Lead strategic client communication needs (i.e., steering committee). Coach team on communication expectations for each project and client. Engage clients in difficult conversations when required, appropriately challenging client/sponsor thinking to achieve best solution and manage risk.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives in client organizations.
Introduce change management to clients as part of a complex project, working with the client to build sponsorship of change efforts. Identify unique change needs and work collaboratively to manage change and ensure alignment with engagement and client needs. Develop comprehensive and/ or complex communication plans adapted to each project and client.
Grow the Business - contribute to our practice relationships and growth by understanding the market and business impact.

Actively manage personal and/or team based pipelines, applying forecasting, pipeline and opportunity management.
Lead business development activities on behalf of team and/or market/service offerings. Adapt mix of business development activities based on needs of team, market/service offering and assets to work with (referral sources, personal network, marketing, etc.).Develop appropriate internal relationships with Firm Partners, Business Developers, Senior Leaders to promote internal referral opportunities and collaboration.
Continually enhances and nurtures professional network based on the needs of team and market/service offerings.
Lead the creation of strategic, winning proposal approaches, solutions, staffing and pricing. Customizes proposal responses to fit unique client and project situations.
Work with Principals, Partners, and Team Leader to establish strategic pricing and investment approaches for each project and client opportunity.
Work with team and/or channel, referral source leadership to define program and plan specific to a market/service offering area or team. Work with channel, referral source counterparts to orchestrate co-selling and co-marketing activities.
Evaluate progress and effectiveness of channel, referral source activities and adjusts accordingly. Work with team and/or leader to adjust channel referral strategies and plans based on changes to the channel or source (reorganizations, new personnel, new product additions, strategic changes, etc.).
Work with team marketing and leadership to establish overall marketing plan specific to the needs of the team or market/service offering area. Participate in marketing campaigns for your respective market/service offering area (working with Marketing). Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities and adjusts marketing mix and spend accordingly.
Work with client Relationship Manager (RM) to foster the client relationship and develop growth plans adapted from standard SAM toolkit.
Drive sales, growth, relationship management activities within select clients.
Lead execution and management of SAM creation process and monitoring of SAM activities.
Run the Business - contribute to daily operations and management of a predictable and profitable business.
Manage all business drivers in a professional services organization in order to operate efficiently and effectively: sales, labor, utilization/capacity, strategic pricing, expense management, CPE, and innovation investment. Review and/or manage client and project billing process for each engagement on a timely basis. Actively manage financials, WIP, AR, planned vs. unplanned write downs, and team expenses and takes ownership of the related processes.
Accountable for project inspection preparation activities as appropriate, and facilitate lessons learned discussions. Ensure that deliverables meet quality standards. Ensure that individual / team work is in compliance

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a specialized field required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience; previous related industry and consulting experience highly preferred; a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory responsibilities highly preferred.
Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills, and highly developed Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel) required.
Strong technical accounting experience or past audit experience a plus
GAAP knowledge
Experience in Sage Intacct
Experience in QuickBooks, BILL, Ramp, NetSuite and/or Expensify a plus
Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the "big picture" as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects.

Job Description:
Our Private Equity Fund Services team is seeking to add a Associate to their team! Baker Tilly's private equity fund services (PEFS) group provides comprehensive fund administration services including fund accounting, financial reporting, waterfall administration, capital event management, investor relations, treasury services, and general back-office consulting for investment firms.
Perform monthly/quarterly review of property financials and GL provided by client's property accounting teams.
Records daily journal entries and reviews cash reporting
Assists in the preparation of periodic reporting packages (monthly, quarterly and/or annual, as required), including schedules to support the general ledger balances for management approval
Assists in the preparation of periodic (monthly, quarterly and/or annual, as required) financial statements for management approval
Assists in the calculation of management fees owed to the management Company for investment/portfolio management services provided to the Fund.
Prepares quarterly investor capital statements for management approval
Prepares capital call calculations and notices to investors for management approval, uploads the notices to the investor portal and monitors the receipt of funds
Prepares distribution calculation and notices to investors for management approval, uploads the notices to the investor portal and monitors the bank transfers
Prepares and reviews correspondence with client investors to address inquiries, as needed
Able to work with auditors and provide them with reports/support to assist them during audit

Qualifications
BA/BS in Accounting or related field required
CPA license (or in process) preferred
One (1)+ years of experience with a public accounting firm, investment bank, or the financial services industry (or general interest in supporting private equity fund operations and accounting)
One (1)+ years of experience with commercial real estate accounting experience. Exposure to property-level and ownership accounting is required
Excellent communication, time management, planning, and problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask required
Must have strong research and analytical skills and current knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
Must be able to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and verbal communication with current and potential clients

What you will do:
The Senior Project Accountant is a key team member within Baker Tilly's CAS Real Estate outsourced real estate property accounting practice. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinate Draw Request including, but not limited to Remittance Requests, Vendor Invoices, Lien Waivers, Change Orders and Identification of Funding Sources
Roll forward the Sworn Owner's Statements (SOS)
Input hard costs and soft costs, including the construction management fees which are to be computed and an invoice prepared
Identify reimbursement costs, batch all hard & soft costs in the SOS into a single batch
Submit copies of the Draw Request to the inspecting architect, title company and Investors / Partners as directed for approval
Request debt as per the client approved SOS
Confirm all funds (e.g. Equity and Tenant Funds not directed to be deposited to the title company) have been received
Prepare a Funding Request to fund Draw Request and submit for approval of same.
Notify vendors of the release of funds as soon as the title company releases funds to vendors
Review hard and soft costs on the Draw Request as follows;
Identify each invoice with a draw number that corresponds to the Draw Request being issued;
Review the coding on all vendor payments to ensure it is properly coded to the correct Fixed Asset (e.g. Land, Land Improvement, Bldg Improvement, Development Costs, Soft Costs, Lease cost or expense);
Include the proper description on each invoice (e.g. General contractor, permits, consulting, engineering, utilities, etc.);
Ensure proper Job Cost Code is inputted on each vendor payment;
Ensure that the total to be funded on the SOS reconciles to the batch total in AvidXchange payment file prior to exporting the batch to Yardi;
Review of Draw Request for accuracy and completeness ensuring that all vendor invoices reconcile to the SOS
Reconcile AvidXchange batch to the total that the title company is releasing. When the above is reconciled, export the batch from AvidXchange to Yardi.
Record the Draw Request as follows;
Record the wire transfers made per the funding request into general ledger module via manual recording or automated upload;
Record and post receipt of funds from equity partners into the general ledger module (Debit Cash / Credit Ownership Contribution);
Prepare, review and post the invoices from AvidXchange to Yardi via a 'manual' check run of which said posting shall equal the amount paid to the vendors (less any reimbursements as applicable and permitted by the lender) on the SOS. Prepare, review and post the Draw Request made by the title company representing the loan proceeds disbursed. Record interest expense (capitalizing where necessary) and increase the loan payable accordingly
Ensure that the loan payable reconciles to the loan statement and post the interest payment in the general ledger module.
Reconcile the general ledger (Fixed Asset -WIP accounts) to the cumulative Draw Requests, including all non-Draw related items (e.g. capitalized interest, capitalized depreciation & amortization, etc.)
Reconcile all construction activities to the Fixed Asset -WIP accounts including all non-draw related activity (e.g. capitalized interest, capitalized depreciation and amortization, etc.)

Qualifications:
Three (3)+ years well-rounded experience in a Real Estate Accounting firm will provide an edge in joining this firm committed to quality client service.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA is preferred
Knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping and payroll principles related to classifying, recording, and summarizing data and making computations to compile and keep financial records.
Real estate property accounting experience, preferred.
Proficient with MS Office software
Critical thinking ability and a track record of solving problems and driving projects to completion

What You Will Do:
