Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the cardiac catheterization lab and ensure all equipment is functional and sterilized.
Assist cardiologists during invasive procedures such as coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and electrophysiology studies.
Monitor and record patient vital signs and procedural data during procedures.
Administer contrast media under physician direction and monitor for allergic reactions.
Maintain accurate records of procedures and ensure proper documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
Ensure radiation safety practices are followed according to regulatory standards.
Assist with patient transport and positioning before and after procedures.

Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or a related field.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Radiologic Technologist (RT) preferred or required based on state regulations.
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, EKG interpretation, and sterile techniques.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Applicable to all hospitals in the Austin market, unless specifically noted for select facilities.
All seasonal staff are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. Regardless of start date, seasonal program/assignment ends on March 31, 2026.
Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.
During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee), if holidays fall during their temporary assignment period.
Seasonal Staff are TEMPORARY status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital. Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits.
Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
Registered Nurses who join the Seasonal program and have a nursing compact license with a state other than Texas, will not be required to obtain a Texas Compact License while in this TEMPORARY status.
Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program.
Active HWS employees or former HWS employees who have worked with HWS in the prior 3 months are not eligible for the seasonal program.

Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care. As the Registered Nurse in the ICU, you will be responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating the care delegated to non-licensed personnel on the team.
* You will perform and document patient assessments at the time of the admission
* You will create a plan of care, including discharge plans, revise the plans based on the patients' response to treatment, and regularly evaluate plans for effectiveness
* You will document the outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses
* You will provide educational materials to patients and families on care and treatments
* You will administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
* You will perform venipuncture, administer and maintain IV fluids and IV medications
* You will review all new physician orders, ensure the orders are carried out correctly, and verify that other departments are notified of orders and services needed
* You will notify the Charge Nurse and/or physician of changes in patient status
* You will provide accurate and relevant patient information reports to the Charge Nurse and to the on-coming shift to ensure continuity of care
* You will provide care for critically ill patients with central/invasive lines, hemodynamic pressure lines, pressure monitoring devices, temporary pacing, artificial airway/mechanical ventilation
* You will provide care for unstable cardiac patients, immediate post-op patients, and potential organ or tissue donor patients

Experience
* 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting
* Recent critical care/clinical nursing experience - preferred
Education

Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
What qualifications you will need:
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Program Details
All seasonal staff are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. Regardless of start date, seasonal program/assignment ends on March 31, 2026.
Four (4) weekend shifts are required for each 4-week schedule period.
During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee), if holidays fall during their temporary assignment period.
