RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Navy Chaplain, your job spans a broad range of duties. You will support fellow servicemembers during their most joyful and most difficult moments. Your responsibilities might be to:

Department Overview
The Chaplaincy department provides support to families, spiritual assessment and working with families experiencing a crisis. In addition, the serve as an outreach to community clergy, facilitate in religious rituals in the hospital (I.e. baptism) and provide support to staff.
Position Summary
The On-Call Chaplain will provide spiritual care during after hours, weekends and holidays to children, families, and staff of Children's MN. **Responsibilities:**
+ Provides spiritual health services:
+ Provides direct spiritual care and consultation to residents, families and staff based on assessment of spiritual needs.
+ Plans/conducts/coordinates worship services, including
+ special seasonal celebrations and memorial services.
+ Provides Holy Communion for residents/clients and families.
+ Serves as a liaison to faith representatives from other spiritual and religious communities to meet the spiritual needs of all residents, including coordination of religious services, sacraments and other activities
+ Conducts funerals for residents upon request when available.
+ Functions as member of the interdisciplinary team:
+ Develops individualized goals and interventions to meet resident's spiritual health needs according to MDS guidelines and documents this in the Spiritual Health section of resident's medical record.
+ Attends interdisciplinary and special care conferences upon request.
+ Serves as a theological, ethical and educational resource:
+ Provides education and spiritual services to staff.
+ Provides nurturing leadership and support for spiritual health volunteers.
+ Maintain role as "clergy in good standing " with religious adjudicating body and APC/NACC communities:
+ Maintains high ethical standards and practice in accordance with own faith tradition and Common Standards
+ Maintains good standing with board certifying body, including completion of required annual continued education.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Post Bachelor Certificate or post baccalaureate degree in process in theology or religious studies or training as required by the chaplain's faith group
+ 1 year of previous experience
+ One or more units of ACPE accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor of Science Graduate degree in theology from a CHEA accredited theological seminary or religious studies program
