POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a full-time Human Resources Administrator to process payroll, handle benefit administration and HR administration. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating Paychex, has an in-depth understanding of benefits and has experience performing HR administrative tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Compliance and Administration
:
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
Assist with 403B enrollment, testing and compliance
Onboard new hires
Assist with recruitment
Support performance management process
Payroll
:
Gather and track time records of employees and calculates hours worked in order to make accurate semi-monthly payroll payments
Compute wages and deductions, and enter data into Paychex; update and monitor electronic timekeeping system
Compile employee time and payroll data from time sheets, daily attendance logs and other records
Provide information to Finance, HR and program teams on time & attendance and general payroll matters
Stay informed about changes in the law that apply to the payroll process and ensure maximum compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, in order to maintain and update payroll records as needed
Issue and record adjustments to employee pay related

Benefits Administration:
Ensure employee benefits plans and vendors are the best value.
Design, recommend and implement new benefits programs. Examine possible plan designs and benefits cost changes when necessary.
Assist COO/HR Lead in the negotiation with vendors and administrators for best plans, options and rates.
Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration
Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes
Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing
Assist in the oversight and maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records
Assist in the analyzation of current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs, and identify the company's stance
Perform plan audits. Prepare, collect and organize data for actuarial assessments. Review data in conjunction with actuarial evaluation task forces.
Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding.
Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to group benefits associates, home office associates and the field staff.

POSITION SUMMARY
Learning Gardens brings year-round, field- and school-based garden science learning to NYC schoolchildren and community members. Our gardens are outdoor classrooms that provide vibrant green space in some of New York City's most densely populated neighborhoods. Operating four community gardens across three boroughs, CPF presents engaging interdisciplinary lessons to expand student learning around urban ecology, horticulture, soil science, and sustainable urban food systems. Students in 2nd - 8th grade and their teachers receive resource materials, curricula, and tools to enhance their understanding of ecosystem services and address the unique challenges of growing food in an urban environment. High School interns are trained in garden instruction and horticultural techniques throughout the spring and then work alongside Learning Gardens staff throughout the summer.
Each week throughout July and August, summer camp groups from local community organizations participate in a 6 session program at one of four Learning Gardens. CPF staff and interns lead late elementary and middle school-aged youths as they experience 15 low-cost hours of fun-filled, garden-based science instruction in community gardening, growing healthy food and keeping fit.
We are seeking two seasonal educators who will be placed at one of the following gardens: Grove Hill Garden in Morrisania, Bronx; Abib Newborn Garden in Brownsville, Brooklyn; Success Garden in East New York, Brooklyn; and Liberty Garden in Jamaica, Queens.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 2+ years of teaching experience; experience in outdoor programs and/or in non-traditional settings preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in garden-based instruction, outdoor education, and youth development
Experience in classroom/group management skills; adept at handling groups outdoors in diverse scenarios
Gardening/horticultural experience is a plus
Excellent verbal communications skills
Willingness to work with underserved, urban youth from historically under-resourced communities.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY
The Systems and Strategy Manager will assess and implement, and oversee the operation and administration of CPF's IT and database systems. Systems may include the Google Workspace and other office productivity software, Salesforce, Intacct, Paychex, and other apps and systems used by teams across CPF. The manager will report to the COO and will work across teams to help integrate systems and ensure the user experience is effective and efficient.

City Parks Foundation has offered a series of low-cost USTA sanctioned junior tournaments in NYC parks for 20+ years. We are seeking to hire an experienced tournament director or coach to organize and run our 2025 tournaments. These 2-3 day events will take place at parks throughout all 5 boroughs of NYC from July - September. The tournament director will be a part-time seasonal employee of the CityParks Play Department and report to the Director of Operations.

Job Description CPF is seeking to hire experienced players, coaches or teachers to teach free beginner tennis lessons to children and seniors in NYC parks. Lessons for seniors are typically held in the Spring and Fall on weekday mornings. Lessons for youth are typically held on weekends in the Spring and Fall and on weekdays from 9-12 noon and 1-4 PM during the summer. Instructors will be trained to teach a standardized curriculum and will be seasonal employees of the CityParks Play department. Our program sites are throughout NYC, however staff are usually assigned to work in their borough of residence.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate and teach daily lessons

POSITION SUMMARY
City Parks Foundation offers hands-on internship experiences in the Corporate Partnerships Department, which manages all sponsorship initiatives for the entire organization. Interns will gain experience while helping the full-time staff execute a wide range of strategies for our arts, sports, community development and environmental education programs. POSITION SUMMARY

The part-time seasonal assistant will support the Marketing department in a broad range of marketing outreach activities at SummerStage in Central Park. The On-site Marketing Assistant will report to the Marketing Director for City Parks Foundation.
This role is an opportunity to work on diverse projects with massive New York City exposure. This position requires live event and production experience with a proactive and can-do attitude, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving proficiency, and the ability to work outside on nights and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend SummerStage in Central Park performances as the primary on-site Marketing contact (estimated 3-5 events/week with variance) between June - October with an estimated 5-10 remote office/admin hours per week with fluctuation week to week.
Supervise up to 2 on-site marketing interns, providing tasks, assignments, and management on-site at shows.
Remote office/admin weekly work to prepare weekly briefs for on-site events (corresponding with and providing details to interns, vendors, media partners, photographers, etc.).
Serve as the primary Marketing point of contact on-site for media partners, production staff, photographers, interns, press, VIP attendees, SummerStage members and the general public. Assist with sponsorship activations and media partners on-site and SummerStage membership program when needed.
Act as the primary manager of the on-site Marketing / Info tent including: table set up, communicating event details and answering questions for all attendees, managing interns, providing assistance to the SummerStage membership program team, and managing the distribution of marketing materials.
Oversee and assist with SummerStage social media plan on-site, including: posting live updates on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok; and answering questions and direct messages.
Manage scheduling and assignment of on-site CPF photographers in advance and on-site.
Coordinate with the production team to ensure smooth operation of stage video screens, marketing slides, stage announcements and other multimedia content captures for each show.
Oversee the press team on-site with check-in, credentials, VIP check in access and press interviews when needed in addition to coordinating with operations and security team management of the press pit.
Manage advancing of media partner on-site activations; coordinating planning details and assisting setup on-site.
Produce daily show recaps and assist with season-end partner recap summaries.

POSITION SUMMARY
Learning Gardens brings year-round, field and school-based garden science learning to NYC school children and community members. Our gardens are outdoor classrooms that provide vibrant green space in some of New York City's most densely populated neighborhoods. We operate four gardens in three boroughs. Using our four community gardens, CPF presents engaging interdisciplinary lessons to expand student learning around urban ecology, horticulture, soil science, and sustainable urban food systems. Students in 2nd - 8th grade and their teachers receive resource materials, curricula, and tools to enhance their understanding of ecosystem services and address the unique challenges of growing food in an urban environment. High School interns are trained in garden instruction and horticultural techniques throughout the spring and then work alongside Learning Gardens staff throughout the summer.
The Seasonal Garden Coordinator and Instructor will be responsible for the day-to-day field operations in our main Learning Gardens located in Brownsville, South Jamaica, and the South Bronx. This includes garden maintenance, repairs, coordinating volunteer events, and overseeing the community gardener program. He/she will also implement summertime groups instruction in the gardens at one site. The ideal candidate will be an excellent time manager, able to multitask, very well-organized, and an effective communicator.
This is a seasonal, nearly 8-month position reporting to the Associate Director of Environmental Education/Learning Gardens, and will supervise up to 2 summer college employees and up to 15 high school interns.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 2 years of garden/farming experience, including some carpentry and building experience
At least 2-3 years outdoor educational experience, preferably with high school students

POSITION SUMMARY
City Parks Foundation seeks up to three college interns to work during the school year within our Seeds
to Trees Program. The mission of Seeds to Trees is to educate elementary and middle school students about urban ecology, forest ecology, marine ecology, parks stewardship and conservation using parks as an outdoor classroom. This program blends hands-on classroom sessions and outdoor field experiences in parks or gardens, and offers professional development for partner teachers.
The College Intern will assist Seeds to Trees staff to implement the program from early October - late November, starting in the classroom and ending with field experiences. As part of this opportunity, the intern will be guided and instructed in the facilitation and administration of experiential, environmental STEM programs primarily in parks and with at least one opportunity to visit a school classroom. The Seeds to Trees College Intern reports to the Senior Manager, School Partnerships and works closely with the Seeds to Trees Program Manager and part-time Educators.

Interns will work with the Seeds to Trees Program Staff to implement our environmental education program in NYC Parks and Schools

Coastal Classroom High School Intern, Fall

Job Description
City Parks Education has been offering interdisciplinary environmental education programs in schools and parks since 1992. The Coastal Classroom after-school program focuses on coastal ecology, water quality, urban waterfront restoration and preservation on the NYC waterfront, with sites in Inwood Hill Park in Manhattan, Bushwick Inlet Park in Williamsburg, Kaiser Park in Coney Island and Hallet's Cove Beach, Astoria, Queens. Coastal Classroom will provide after-school programming for up to 20-30 middle school students at each of the 4 locations, using site-specific inquiry-based lessons to stimulate meaningful learning experiences in their own communities.
Between mid-October and December, the Coastal Classroom after-school program will engage middle school students in coastal ecology and maritime training, through instruction as well as trips to coastal areas and visits to organizations performing similar work.
CPF has developed this fellowship opportunity for ambitious 11th or 12th grade high school students to gain hands-on experience and explore the environmental education sector, while helping to promote stewardship of our waterways and coastal areas. Selected interns will gain valuable work experience, putting their skills to use while expanding their knowledge of the field.
COMPENSATION: $16.50 per hour
The Coastal Classroom internship is an exciting opportunity. High school students who complete the apprenticeship will:
Learn more about coastal ecology
Receive training in program facilitation and peer instruction
Facilitate activities and provide instruction for groups of upper elementary and middle school-aged peers
Earn paid Fall employment
Learn valuable skills that will help them in the workplace for years to come
Interns will be placed at one of 4 locations:
Kaiser Park in Coney Island

Internships will begin the third week of October and last 12 weeks, depending on the site Interns will work a total of 2-4 hours per week Interns will earn a minimum hourly wage of $16.50/hour for the fall internship.
Responsibilities:
Work as team members to assist lead educator, primarily on site
Help lead groups of middle school students in developmentally appropriate lessons about marine ecology and/or rowing (rowing at Kaiser Park only)
Support lead educator to complete occasional office work, such as assisting in lesson preparation, inventorying and other related tasks as needed
Contribute to an ongoing blog for the CPF website and support the gathering of materials and anecdotes for our Facebook page
Assist with data collection and recordkeeping.
Help maintain, repair and protect boats, tools, and equipment, including waders, nets, buckets, water quality kits and other gear
Assist in quick setup and breakdown, including moving heavy equipment (waders, nets, moving cart) and other physically-involved tasks
Qualifications:
Be enrolled in High School
Be at least 16 years old (by Oct. 1, 2025)
Demonstrate basic knowledge of coastal ecology
Have an interest in working with upper elementary and middle school-aged students
Commit to attending the training and internship work schedule
Strong interest and basic knowledge of coastal ecology, such as marine ecosystems, marine life, data collection, and data analysis.
On-water experience including basic navigational skills

Director, Individual Giving & Special Events

The Director, Individual Giving & Special Events will join a 17-person Development and Marketing team, raising approximately $14 million annually from individual donors, foundations and institutions, corporations, special events and government to support our free programs in New York City parks. Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Development Officer, this position will oversee, maintain, and grow a portfolio of approximately $3.4M coming from memberships, individual donor solicitations (focusing on gifts of $10K or more), and multiple special events, and work closely with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director.
The Director will be responsible for individual donor and prospect cultivation, stewarding and securing major gifts, developing our individual giving team, oversight of our annual fundraising events (Golf Classic, Tennis Benefit at the U.S. Open, Gala at SummerStage), creating and managing additional cultivation events, and overseeing our SummerStage membership program and cultivation at SummerStage concerts. The Director will supervise a team of four development professionals.
COMPENSATION $100,000 - $120,000 per year
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage the Individual Giving and Special Events department with four direct reports
Develop and manage an individual giving program for all donor levels, with a focus on growing major gifts of $10K or higher
Manage all fundraising events, including annual Golf Benefit, Tennis Benefit at the U.S. Open, and Gala at SummerStage, working with relevant consultants and vendors and with fundraising committees.
Plan for new event revenue opportunities and any additional cultivation events as needed
Oversee the SummerStage membership and Member for a Day program at SummerStage
Build out an organization-wide young patrons and/or junior board program
Create strategies and support team in prospecting and cultivating relationships with new donors
Implement new strategies to improve small donor retention and recurring donors
Support Board and Program Committee fundraising, helping program directors and/or Executive Director with strategy development, solicitation support, meeting prep, and relationship cultivation
Create and implement an annual fundraising plan and track all goals with regular reporting and evaluation of progress
Propose and implement creative communication plans and appeal campaigns, and possess excellent writing and storytelling skills
Support staff use of moves management and other stewardship tools effectively, and ensure that donor information is accurate and up to date
Collaborate across other development and program teams and work closely with senior staff for cultivation and prospecting
Collaborate with the Chief Marketing and Development Officer on all department deliverables
Support the Executive Director as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
7 years of successful fundraising experience in building and growing individual giving portfolios and in planning and implementing special events
Excellent relationship-building skills, interest in stewarding individual donors to build meaningful and lasting connections and strong understanding of donor protocol and etiquette
Experience supervising multiple team members with different donor portfolios
Excellent storytelling, written and oral communication skills
Experience working directly with senior leadership teams and other key stakeholders
Knowledge of fundraising trends and best practices
Strong CRM skills (Salesforce preferred) and experience with donor software

POSITION SUMMARY
City Parks Foundation seeks two or three college interns to work during the school year within our Seeds to Trees Program. The mission of
Seeds to Trees
is to educate elementary and middle school students about urban ecology, forest ecology, marine ecology, parks stewardship and conservation using parks as an outdoor classroom.
