The HR Generalist plays a critical role in day-to-day operations within the HR team. The role will coordinate many of the HR activities but also partner with the rest of the HR Team to support the everyday needs of employees. The individual in this role reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as a primary resource for both internal and external inquiries related to company policies and procedures.
Supports the efficient operation of general office activities.
prepares and processes semi-monthly payroll.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Submits Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) through the HRIS (Paycom).
Assists in the administration of employee benefits.
Manages and processes paperwork for state-mandated paid family and medical leave, as well as disability claims.
Coordinates and oversees the annual insurance open enrollment process.
Addresses employee 401(k) questions regarding enrollment, plan changes, and contribution rates.
Communicates wellness initiatives.
Completes employment verification requests.
Prepares and submits annual federal and state compliance reports.
Assigns documents and policy acknowledgements through the HRIS (Paycom).
Paycom experience preferred
Supervises the Cristo Rey High School internship program participant.
Maintains membership in the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) organization.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources related area of study.
5 years of experience working with Human Resources Department preferred.
Professional certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus.
Prior experience working with Human Resources KPIs a plus.
Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft office products a must.
Strong Understanding of HR information systems.
Paycom experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management from an accredited four-year university and 2-5 years of experience.
Extensive use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and construction management databases/tracking software is required for this role.
Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) is required, Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
Ability to obtain certifications for material sampling/testing for aggregates, concrete, asphalt, grading, etc.
Ability to obtain certifications for inspection of roadways, bridges, coatings, etc.
Valid driver's license without restrictions.
