Thompson Engineering is looking for a structural Autocad / REVIT Designer to join our team. The Structural Designer I & II is an entry level position up through 5 years of professional work experience. The Designer works closely with Structural Engineers and Architects to perform structural drafting assignments in either Autocad or REVIT. The position requires learning Thompson Engineering's drafting standards and procedures for projects involving buildings, coastal piers and bulkheads, industrial support structures, deep foundations, and other similar structures. The Designer should be well organized, have good verbal communication and problem-solving skills, and have a strong aptitude for follow-through. Essential Functions of the Position Capable of adhering to existing drafting standards and utilizing them properly. Knowledgeable in the operation of Autocad and REVIT software. Able to effectively work both independently and as a part of a larger team, on multiple, short-duration assignments or on single, large, multi-discipline projects. Able to manage the pressures associated with fast-paced environments, critical design tolerances, and tight schedules. Able to adapt his/her schedule to meet needs as they arise (i.e., able to occasionally come in early or stay late to respond to a client's last-minute request).
