A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CIVIL CAD DESIGNER
In this CAD drafting position, you play a vital role in developing small and large-scale commercial, industrial, public works, and parks/recreation projects. Each day, you can be found at your computer drafting site development plans. Paying close attention to detail, you are sure to include the site geometry, utility, erosion and sediment control, grading/drainage plans, and other details to meet client and CEI standards. Support new vessel construction through detailed 2D and 3D modeling and technical drawing production
Create and modify ship construction drawings
Work directly with naval architects, marine engineers, and electrical engineers on new vessel design implementation

Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology or similar field of study
Minimum 3 - 5 years of CAD drafting experience
Strong fundamentals in one or more areas of vessel design: general design, mechanical design, electrical design, structural design, and piping design
Knowledge of maritime regulatory requirements, construction tolerances, and vessel construction processes and sequences
Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software like NX, ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, and Rhino

Turner Specialty Services is looking to hire a Draftsman/IDMS with experience in PCMS and AutoCAD drafting for a full-time position located in the Baton Rouge, LA area. This position drafts detailed construction drawings, topographical profiles and related maps and specification sheets used in planning and construction. Non-exempt role; Reports to Drafting Supervisor, Engineer or AutoCAD Designer; Performs a variety of routine duties within established policies.
Essential Qualifications:
High school or equivalent
Minimum two (2) years of drafting experience or equivalent combinations of experience and training
Experience in PCMS and AutoCAD drafting
Experienced in CAD software to create drawings and/or ability to create drawings manually
Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
No per diem, local candidates only

Comply with company and client job site safety requirements

Functional Requirements:
Plots maps and charts showing profiles and cross-sections, indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations to buildings, retaining walls, tunnels, overhead power lines, and other structures; drafts detailed drawings of structures employing structural reinforcing steel, concrete, masonry, wood and other structural material; produces plans and details of foundations, building frame, floor and roof framing and other structural elements; may accompany survey crew in the field to locate grading markers or to collect data required for revision of construction drawings; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
