Must be able to correctly interpret engineering mechanical drawings. Must understand machining properties of metals

Must understand selection of machine speeds and feeds for each machining operation
Must understand the metric system of measurement.

*Responsible for operating mills, lathes, surface grinders, and other tool room related machines
Requirements:
* 2-5 years of experience as a manual machinist, preferably in a tool and die repair environment or any formal training. Must possess own hand tools and measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
*Strong knowledge of machining principles, including milling, lathes, and surface grinding
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
* Experience with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers
* High school diploma or equivalent required, certificate or degree in machining or a related field preferred
This position requires the incumbent to experience periods of prolonged sitting and /or to regularly stand, walk, carry, reach and lift up to 50 lbs. during an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday with occasional OT when necessary.
Work Schedule:
* First shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Job Summary
We are seeking a Machinist to join our team! As a Machinist, you will be working with a variety of manual milling machines, manual lathes and manufacturing equipment as needed and per drawing or job order specifications. You will also be setting and maintaining your equipment as needed, assisting other machinists with larger tasks, and maintaining a safe work environment. The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, previous experience in an industrial environment, and the ability to work well with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain machine tools to produce and repair precision parts.
Machine variety of materials to drawing or order specifications, holding required tolerances.
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
Check final products for accuracy, and make adjustments to machines as needed to ensure the best final product.
Occasionally work on-site with customers for repairs and installations.
Occasionally work outside of scheduled shifts to meet deadlines (OT).
Qualifications
Strong background in operating manual lathes and milling machines.
Strong familiarity with precision tools.
The ability to read drawings or job orders and make minor adjustments as needed to fulfill requirements.
Excellent attention to safety and detail.
Good work ethic.
Valid Driver's License.
