The NC Operator II is a frontline manufacturing position responsible for operating Numerical Control machine tools including, but not limited to, lathes, millers, EDM, etc., as needed to manufacture metal or plastic components. One or more machines may be running at the same time. Inspects work and performs quality checks to ensure conformance to Engineering DWGS. Will record data for SPC, either manually or electronically. Cross checks other cell operators' work for first piece inspection and advises of any quality issues. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for operation of CNC machining centers in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The technician may be asked to support other processes or production lines as demand and production schedules dictate. 1 st Shift - Mon-Fri, 7:00am - 3:30pm Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong, internal working relationships across ConforMIS. Understand the objectives, responsibilities, and mission of the Production department and works towards those goals. Prioritize and plan work activities; adapt for changing conditions. Operation and light maintenance of CNC machining centers and associated tooling. Hand deburring of metal medical implants after machining. Perform in-process inspection of CNC machined parts. Perform timely and accurate transactions of workflow in ERP system. Maintain CNC machine spare parts and consumable tooling. Assist in the investigation and implementation of corrective actions on product and process failures. $2500 SIGN-ON BONUS CNC Machinist will machine precision aerospace components according to customer specifications while adhering to specific quality, production, and scheduling requirements. Positions available on 1st (630AM - 3PM) and 2nd (3PM - 1230AM) shifts. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Able to read and understand work instructions such as, fixture alignment, tooling info and part loading instructions. Set-up and operate CNC lathe or multi-axis milling machining centers according to engineering specifications, instructions, GD&T, and operation sheets. Knowledge of manual machines is a plus. Be able to pick up work offsets and tram tools to run true. Understand cutter compensation and can make the correct offset adjustment to ensure a quality part. Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures and tool holders for a given job. Perform basic edits to G code to ensure product conformity. Read and interpret engineering instructions, travelers, and blueprints and be familiar with geometric tolerances and principles. Must perform routine maintenance on assigned production equipment, i.e., maintain cleanliness of work area and machinery, check machinery fluids and alert maintenance personnel and/or supervisor of malfunctions. Operate lifting and handling equipment such as hand truck, pallet jack, or overhead hoist to maneuver in-process or finished components to desired location.
