POSITION SUMMARY
The CNC Machinist II produces machined parts by operating a computernumericalcontrol (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet‘s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and Set-up CNC machines within specified tolerances following work instructions and in accordance with machine programs and engineering drawings;
Perform difficult CNC Machinist work including progressive machining of a variety of parts and different metals where very close tolerances must be maintained;
Change dull tooling, and/or make minor offsets and adjustments as needed for tooling wear;
Ensure product quality is achieved by working to operator owned quality (OOQ) standards and requirements including using a range of measuring equipment and interpreting readings;
Perform routine maintenance as per daily machine checklist and adhere to PM schedule;
Perform hand finishing;
Follow Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices (GMP/GDP) at all times including completion of job routers/ cards;
Ensure safe working practices are carried out to minimize risks to the job holder and/or colleagues, including identifying and reporting Safety, Health & Environmental issues;
Achieve set productivity targets and identify ways of improving productivity;
Record all activities in a timely manner on the job tracking system;
Identify and support Continuous Improvement activities;
Identify and escalate manufacturing issues to the Team Leader and/or Supervisor, participating in the resolution as required;
Maintain 5S/housekeeping standards within work area;
Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor;
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
3+ years CNC Machining experience.
Associate's degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.
Experience of working in a production environment, preferred
GCSE/NVQ Math and English is desirable (UK only)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing team. Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or routers).

Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and CMM (Zeiss or equivalent).
Maintain tolerances to within 0.0005" (as required).
Perform basic machine programming or editing (G/M code or CAM software).
Collaborate with engineers and quality control to refine processes.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Qualifications
3+ years of CNC machining experience (aerospace/medical a plus).
Strong understanding of GD&T, tooling, and workholding.
Experience with CNC controls (e.g., FANUC, Haas, Siemens).
Familiarity with Zeiss CMM or similar metrology equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a precision-driven team.
High attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
Ability to read and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

Design tooling, fixtures, and work holding solutions for repeatable, high precision assembly, and CNC machining operations.

Address non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
Implement Lean manufacturing principles and best practices to cut waste, streamline workflows, and enhance productivity in operations and assemblies.
Perform dimensional inspections using precision measurement tools, such as micrometers and calipers, to verify part dimensions and geometric tolerances.
Provide training and technical support to CNC machinists and operators on program setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
Continuous learning and skill development within the machining team, promoting knowledge sharing and cross-training to enhance capabilities and versatility.

Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual will need the following:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and knowledge.
3+ years of experience in CNC programming roles, with knowledge in CAM software ( Fusion, SolidCam, Mastercam, Gibbs CAM, Esprit, etc).
Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, including G-code programming, toolpath generation, and machining parameters optimization.
Knowledge or CNC Vertical and Horizontal 3, 4 and 5 axis Milling Machines.
Knowledge of machining processes and materials, including metal cutting, tooling choice, and workpiece fixturing.
Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion).
Ability to order tooling, lubricants, and other items associated with CNC machining.
Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to CNC programming, machining, and tooling.
General computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Adhere to essential functions of position such as attendance and timeliness.
Ability to accept and follow directions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is highly desirable
Knowledge of Mazak CNC machines and Mazatrol Conversational Programming
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to meet with Tooling Sales Reps and other industry professionals to inquire and learn about new products and services that will enhance manufacturing capabilities
General mechanical ability and familiarity of tools is preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems
Excellent communication skills and project management skills
