Job Summary
Are you a skilled CNC Machinist who thrives on challenging setups and tight tolerances? This role goes beyond button-pushing - we need someone confident in setting up, dialing in, and producing complex, one-off, and low-volume parts with high precision.
Responsibilities
Must be a subject matter expert in the following functions/activities (perform correctly and without assistance):
Able to Run Manual and CNC Machines at an expert Level.
Perform full setups on CNC mills and/or lathes from print or model - including indicating vises, fixtures, and part zeros.
Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and 3D models to execute machining strategies.
Adjust feeds, speeds, tooling, and offsets to optimize quality and efficiency.
Troubleshoot issues related to tooling, setup, and part accuracy independently.
Ensure in-process inspection and first article inspection compliance.
Collaborate with engineers and programmers to refine setups and improve processes.
What You Bring:
5+ years of CNC machining experience, with a strong emphasis on complex setups and first-run parts.
Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and setup sheets.
Strong understanding of machine offsets, tool presetting, and basic G/M code.
Experience with multi-axis machining or live tooling.
Strong understanding of machining processes and techniques.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Familiar with the use of precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.
Solid understanding of lean manufacturing
At least 5 years of relevant experience in machining manufacturing.

Job overview

+ Decide through the use of learned solutions the sequence of set ups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized methods and procedures for completing work in process according to work schedules and constraint and shipping buffers
+ Coordinate with other personnel in the small parts area to ensure the proper sequence of operations to be performed on specific parts to maintain workloads
+ Maintain housekeeping in work area, and on all machines used
+ Perform operator preventive maintenance on equipment, and informs supervisor and/or lead person of any breakdowns or damage of equipment or parts
+ Read and interpret work orders and daily production schedules. Write entries on daily shop production labor report to show work completed.

Job overview
Under general supervision of the CNC Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for set up, programing and operating CNC lathes and mills. Uses measuring instruments such as a protractor, framing square, tape measure, tri-square, center finder, levers, scribes, calipers, and drill gauges to fabricate various products of the unit
Understand material requirements and specifications as stated on blue prints and drawings
Decide through the use of learned solutions the sequence of set ups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized methods and procedures for completing work in process according to work schedules and constraint and shipping buffers
Coordinate with other personnel in the small parts area to ensure the proper sequence of operations to be performed on specific parts to maintain workloads
Maintain housekeeping in work area, and on all machines used
Perform operator preventive maintenance on equipment, and informs supervisor and/or lead person of any breakdowns or damage of equipment or parts
Read and interpret work orders and daily production schedules. Write entries on daily shop production labor report to show work completed.
Be responsible for safety and environmental issues regarding assigned area, i.e. material handling of material, crane use, vacuum lift use, cutting torch, hot parts, lifting weight limits, proper eye protection, proper level in water table to minimize smoke generated during cutting process
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment
6 months experience operating a CNC Drill or like machine
The ability to read, write, and communicate in English
The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
The ability to accurately read a tape measure and micrometer
The ability to read Valmont blueprints
The ability to walk and stand up to 100% of the shift
Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications
One year of previous experience operating a forklift
The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
