* Sets up, adjusts, verifies and keys in or downloads program, correlates machine position with control and operates numericallycontrolled machines to produce a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications.
* Works from program operational data and setup instructions defining and coding tool arrangements, fixtures, material clamping methods, machine calibrations and console settings for operations including the operations of two systems (lathes) within the same operating machine.
* Arranges, mounts and secures tooling in machine rack, magazine or turrets and sets stops, calibrates fixture or work piece to material reference point and manually cycles machine through operation sequence adjusting machine to correct deviations from program specifications.
* Operates control console checking work position at specified reference points and interprets complicated part drawings and specifications using required precision inspection instruments to inspect work and maintain tolerance requirements throughout the process.
* Recognizes and reports errors in programming and operations; works with systems and programming personnel to correct such errors, makes recommendations to supervisors; and diagnoses operating difficulties and makes appropriate remedial adjustments.
* De-burrs parts, performs final inspection, completes paperwork and prepares parts for transport to packaging.
* Sets up machines for and instructs machine operators of lower classification.

Position Overview:

Position Overview:
As a Manual Machinist in our Repairs Division, you'll use your expertise to operate machine tools, repair, and fabricate precision components critical to power generation equipment. You'll work in both our St. Louis facility and on-site in the field, making your role integral to our operations. This position offers the chance to work on a wide range of machines, from lathes, VTLs, HBMs and grinders, and work closely with other skilled professionals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Determine the most efficient work procedures and tools to be used on assigned tasks.
Use a variety of precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions and maintain strict tolerances (Vernier calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc.).
Operate and set up machines, including lathes, mills and grinders
Contribute to fieldwork during pe ak seasons, requiring some travel (domestic and international).
Be flexible with extended hours during peak seasons, including both day and night shifts.
Education & Experience:High School Diploma or GED, apprenticeship training or trade school preferred.
Mechanical Aptitude:A strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Skill Set:Experience with a range of machinery including Bridgeport-type mills, engine lathes, vertical turning lathes (VTL), horizontal boring mills (HBM), and more. Proficient in the use of surface grinders, blanchard grinders, portable lathes, and stud removal hydraulic drills.

MD&A's Repairs Division is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to use power operated machine tools, repair and/or fabricate precision metal parts/components that are found in various pieces of power generation equipment to specific tolerance levels.

Position Overview:
As a Manual Machinist in our Repairs Division, you'll use your expertise to operate machine tools, repair, and fabricate precision components critical to power generation equipment. This position offers the chance to work on a wide range of machines, from lathes, VTLs, HBMs and grinders, and work closely with other skilled professionals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Determine the most efficient work procedures and tools to be used on assigned tasks.
Use a variety of precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions and maintain strict tolerances (Vernier calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc.).
Operate and set up machines, including lathes, mills and grinders.
Be flexible with extended hours during peak seasons, including both day and night shifts.

Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED, apprenticeship training or trade school preferred.
Mechanical Aptitude: A strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Skill Set: Experience with a range of machinery including Bridgeport-type mills, engine lathes, vertical turning lathes (VTL), horizontal boring mills (HBM), and more. Proficient in the use of surface grinders, blanchard grinders, portable lathes, and stud removal hydraulic drills.
