Requirements Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards; ensure proper use of tools and equipment Cut steel using flame torch Bevel, grind, and prepare materials for welding Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools; distribute to appropriate locations per project plans or Superintendent direction Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools Measure pipe and cut to size Apply caulking, cleaning solutions, or other compounds by hand or with tools Prepare forms for concrete pouring and dismantle after use using various tools Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and level earth to grade specifications using manual tools Other duties as assigned Education and Experience High school diploma and a minimum of 2-3 years of previous mechanical construction experience, including HVAC ductwork, electrical controls, and threaded pipe installation Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate work with team members Strong organizational skills for managing time and resources efficiently Ability to read blueprints and drawings Ability to work independently Must be able to use various hand and power tools Must be able to accurately read and use a tape measure Supervisory Responsibilities Works under the direction of a Superintendent or Skilled Tradesman Working Conditions Physical effort required for frequent lifting or moving of heavy materials Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and walk a project site Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reach Ability to work in confined space Work is performed in outdoor weather conditions on job sites Must be able to travel for extended periods to support projects Benefits CMS offers competitive pay along with a benefit package including Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance, AFLAC, 401K with company match, Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and Paid Holidays.
