Meetings are to cover all project procedures, including the company safety rules, contract document requirements, schedule and the level of quality expected. Develop, with the Superintendent, a "rolling punch list" of substandard and deficient work items that must be corrected by the company or subcontractors in a timely manner with the goal of achieving a zero-punch list at project completion. Learn what the Owner's needs and expectations are so these areas can be managed and educate the Owner to what he can expect. Oversee the construction and renovation of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, specifically those involved in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). Ensure all construction activities comply with industry standards, GMP regulations, and FDA guidelines. Thorough review and understanding of the Owner's contract to ensure compliance with all contractual requirements. Collaborate with superiors to ensure proper project staffing. Establishes the overall project's procedures and execution plan. Works with the Superintendent and subcontractors to prepare the overall detailed project schedule. Ensure that the schedule is incorporated into appropriate subcontracts and purchase orders. Works with Superintendent to ensure the schedule is updated at a minimum of once a month or more often as necessary. Monitor critical path activities frequently to document and if necessary, intervene to keep project on or ahead of schedule. When project is 90% complete, assist the Superintendent in preparing "Work Completion Lists" to help ensure the project is fully completed in a timely manner. Establishes the project document control system to ensure the project is using the most current contract documents for construction. This includes the system to initiate and monitor Request for Information (RFIs) as well as the shop drawing control and management. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH * Promote safety with all other employees and outside contractors. * Promote electrical safety and safe work practices in the workplace with subordinates. * Responsible for supervising the electrical and instrumentation technicians in the execution of daily work orders and projects assigned by the maintenance coordinator. The engineer is responsible for assigning the work to his crew, insuring the work is performed both timely and correctly and the work history is recorded in SAP. * Electrical preventive and predictive maintenance programs. This includes conducting systematic inspections on all plant electrical equipment, collection of quantitative data, its' organization and analysis using a variety of traditional as well as technically advanced diagnostic tools. The electrical engineer shall assess the condition of the process and machinery accurately, assess risk and identify the appropriate corrective actions based on technical analysis and risk management. * Responsible for the accurate documentation of electrical schematics and stores spare parts inventory. * Ensure all system programming meets with proper environmental compliance. * Maintain system documentation including but not limited to master equipment files, regulatory compliance files, equipment specifications, and repair history * Evaluate computer control equipment and their components to assure they meet the plant requirements. * Define, write and implement changes to existing process control programs. * Provide control system training and guidance for plant personnel. * Troubleshoot control system hardware and software problems. * Participates in defining, developing and executing equipment and process modifications to improve reliability, reduce costs and/or improve safety.
