Solano Irrigation District is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform a variety of paraprofessional engineering field and office tasks with Underground Service Alerts (USA) locating and field marking as the primary, daily responsibility. This position plays a critical safety role for District and partner-agency infrastructure by ensuring accurate locating, timely USA ticket response, and clear communication with excavators. Typical work includes USA research and field markings, documenting and updating map data, drafting, surveying, technical support for Engineers, Operations, and the District Engineer. Other assignments may include construction inspection, drafting, surveying and mapping. Engineering Technician I This is the entry-level classification in the Engineering Technician series. Experience and Education Engineering Technician I Experience: One (1) year of technical experience in civil engineering, drafting, surveying, inspections, or a related field. An Associates degree in mathematics, drafting, AutoCAD, GIS, engineering or related field is preferred.
