Installs, or assists with overseeing the installation, integration, programming, and repair of electronic access controls, including proximity card and swipe card hardware. Interprets Master Keying Guide; use appropriate discretion and special knowledge of lock systems to preserve the integrity of the University's master key system, while meeting customer needs. Inputs and retrieves data in a prescribed format, utilizing knowledge of various computer software packages. Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains mechanical locks and electronic key card systems. A CST technician inspects, assesses, categorizes, and services military and support equipment utilizing paper and/or electronic checklists. In addition, CST technicians are required to perform surface preparation and touch-up painting, apply corrosion prevention compounds (CPCs), and conduct routine maintenance on application equipment.
