About this position
This position is responsible for overseeing all storeroom inventory and operations.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:
Check shipment by comparing it with purchase order and/or invoice to insure what is being received is what was ordered (quantity, price, quality, state, size, count, weight tolerance and acceptable expiration date and received at the proper temperature).
Work in conjunction with Director of Food and Beverage, Executive Chef and Director of Finance to ensure appropriate handling, transport, and documentation of all food ordering and receiving between departments.
Work in conjunction with the Front Desk Team to ensure appropriate handling and transport of packages received for hotel departments.
To follow/adhere to established standard operating procedures and local health regulations.
Document discrepancy and notify supervisor immediately of shortage.
Help to set up local vendors and products and communicate items that need to be used.
Assists with placing orders or any other reasonable task assigned.
Receives orders and rotates stock when putting the orders away. All incoming products need to be rotated and dated to ensure the products are rotated properly to avoid spoilage.
Assist in conducting End-Of-Month Physical Inventory.
Ensure all storage areas and walk-in coolers are clean and organized at all times
Ensure service and receiving landing are clean and organized
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Expectations:
Minimum formal education of a high school diploma, or GED.

Essential Functions of Food Strategy Coordinator:
Primary functions include entry of all product receipts into our warehouse management system (WMS), ensuring all incoming shipments are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Verify accuracy on type and quantity of product being received versus what was ordered or expected according to purchase or donation orders.
Use WMS to process the movement of inventory on or for packing or repacking operations.
Review and document product quality issues.
Scan and record nutrition values of product received into our WMS.
Record allergens on the item card.
Scan Bill of ladings into our computer system and send a copy to our donors/vendors as needed.
Maintain inventory integrity on a per warehouse receipt transaction regarding purchased, donated and government allocated product, alongside cost of product on receipt.
Communicate with warehouse management, other departments, and other business partners to maximize efficiency, maintain inbound load accuracy, and assist in resource allocation.
Assist in product forecasting, planning, sales support, and purchase support.
Schedule all inbound/outbound shipments to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana.
Maintain and improve processes and data within our WMS.
Work safely and accurately with minimal supervision.
Change tasks and assignments as the needs of Food Strategy team requires.
Ensure compliance and adherence to all food safety guidelines according to GFB, Feeding America, AIB, USDA, ISDH and any other applicable processes or regulations for safe and sanitary production and storage of all products.

Education and/or Experience of Food Strategy Coordinator:
High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
Prior experience in customer service, logistics, warehousing, and data management is desired.

* Schedule inbound and outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations and capacities.
* Meet or exceed all service and efficiency standards for shipping and receiving.
* Ensure accuracy of all shipping and receiving (B.O.L.) documents.
* Handle all customers and customer representatives at the dispatch window.
* Gather and maintain all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities.
* Maintain legible and accurate records and logs as required.
* Assist in training new associates.
* Assist in maintaining facility security.
* Maintain the facility dock door control board to be accurate at all times.
* Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can't be self -corrected to the warehouse supervisor.
* Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area in accordance with company standards of housekeeping.
* Conduct yourself in a polite and service oriented manner towards customer representatives and fellow associates.
Required Education and Experience:
* 1 year experience
* High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
