As a CT Technologist you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to produce cross-sectional images of patient's internal organs and tissues. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): * Responsible for managing more complex patient cases and providing specialized care to patients with unique medical needs or conditions, this could involve collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop tailored imaging plans and treatment strategies * Operate ultrasound machines to produce real-time images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow, select appropriate imaging techniques and settings to capture clear and accurate images based on the specific clinical indication or area of interest * Use a handheld transducer (probe) to transmit high-frequency sound waves into the body and capture the returning echoes to create images, manipulate the transducer and adjust imaging parameters to obtain multiple views and optimize image quality * Interpret ultrasound images in real-time to assess the structure, size, shape, and function of organs and tissues within the body, identify any abnormalities, lesions, or pathology that may be present and communicate findings to radiologists or referring physicians * May perform Doppler ultrasound studies to evaluate blood flow patterns and detect abnormalities such as vascular occlusions, stenosis, or thrombosis * Proficient in using advanced imaging techniques and technologies, such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound, or ultrasound-guided procedures (biopsies, aspirations, injections, thoracentesis, and paracentesis procedures) * Perform a wider range of ultrasound examinations, including more complex or specialized imaging studies, this could involve imaging of specific organs or systems, such as obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, abdominal, cardiac, or musculoskeletal ultrasound #LI-MK3 Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. CT Tech Job Summary and QualificationsThe CT Scan Technologist will maintain technical skills needed to perform CT procedures. Responsible for the use of equipment to minimize hazards and maximize patient safety. Duties include proper operation of all equipment, digital image management, preparing room for use. Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify the requirements of the adolescent, adult, geriatric patients and to provide the care needed as described in the policies and procedures. Responsible for the care and maintaining of existing intravenous access, may be responsible for injecting specific medication under the direction of the physician. Performs diagnostic procedures in a manner consistent with minimal radiation exposure and maximum image quality. Demonstrates competency in all areas of computerized tomography, positioning, procedure preparation, and technical factors associated with the CT Systems, with emphasis (experience) in Coronary and Peripheral CTA. Will display knowledge in the use of all other equipment used in CT Scan. Performs examinations according to protocol, radiologist preference and ACR guidelines. Consistently consents patients for metals and contrast and obtains necessary surgical history of patients prior to exam. Documents in information systems upon completion of procedures; always documents all STAT reads according to departmental policies. Maintains cleanliness and inventory of the lab to include equipment and facilities. Will follow proper disinfection techniques, restocks supplies as necessary, carts or work area will be cleaned and stocked at the completion of each shift. The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the ER Physician in accordance with the Radiologist accepted protocol. The technologist will also be proficient in the positioning of the patient and examining table to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician. Technologist will also practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle in mind, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors, to maximize radiation protection to patient and staff. X-Ray Technologist- Texas Summary: Assist with the delivery of occupational health care. Perform radiological duties and procedures as permitted by governing agencies. Responsibilities Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take X-rays following established procedures. Practice sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards. Produce quality diagnostic radiographs and maintain a repeat rate of two percent or less. Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Assist with patient flow process and secure/stock necessary X-ray supplies. Travels market to provide staffing coverage and on-site services.
