GENERAL NATURE OF WORK: This position performs semi-skilled work in the Parks, Recreation, and Culture division. An employee in this class is responsible for performing various tasks associated with the maintenance of streets, traffic, parks, cemeteries, buildings, and vehicles in the City. Your primary responsibility is to set up machines according to the work order & job specifications. Using your mechanical skills, you troubleshoot and adjust the setup as needed. You pull all necessary materials and tools to perform measuring, cutting, assembly, and other operations as necessary for production. As a skillful assembler, you fill, weigh, and label each package. Always attentive to detail, you keep an inventory of materials and alert managers when items are low. You complete high-quality work, making sure to monitor and maintain excellent production performance. Safety is your highest priority as you operate machines, so you make sure to follow all rules to the letter. WORK SCHEDULE FOR A MANUFACTURING MACHINE OPERATOR / SETUP TECH & GENERAL ASSEMBLER This production position works the 1st shift and typically has a 4-day schedule of Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm.
