Reporting to the Coordinator of Sites and Facilities, this position plays a key role in helping to ensure that all district buildings are safe, clean, and well-maintained in accordance with Board of Education policies and regulatory requirements.
The Assistant Coordinator will work closely with custodial and maintenance teams across the district, assist in developing preventative maintenance and energy management plans, and support construction, repairs, and improvement projects. This individual will also serve as a liaison with contractors, vendors, and municipal officials as directed by the Coordinator of Sites and Facilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Under the direction of the Coordinator of Sites & Facilities, the Assistant Coordinator will:
* Support the daily operations and general oversight of custodial and maintenance functions across all district facilities.
* Conduct building and grounds inspections and assist in identifying and addressing maintenance needs.
* Help supervise custodial and maintenance staff and maintain related records, including attendance and compensation, as assigned.
* Assist in the development and implementation of procedures, standards, and forms for effective operations and resource utilization.
* Support the Coordinator in preparing bid specifications, monitoring vendor and contractor performance, and verifying materials compliance.
* Participate in construction and improvement project oversight and coordination with architects, inspectors, and city officials.
* Assist in preparing and monitoring custodial and maintenance budgets.
* Assist in the administration of the work order system and develop preventative maintenance as needed.
* Contribute to preventative maintenance, energy efficiency, and security planning efforts.

* Attend district committee and Board of Education meetings when required.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in site and facilities operations, preferably within a school setting.
* Experience working with bargaining units and public sector personnel preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to support the management of operational budgets.

This Human Resources Specialist will join a small, collaborative team of Specialists to directly support the Director of Human Resources across all functions related to the employment of staff, including recruitment, onboarding, supervision, reporting and compliance, and separation. This position is located in the newly opened Danbury Education Complex, a part of the Danbury High School - West campus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Coordinates on-boarding for new employees by making initial contact with the new hire, preparing and reviewing hiring paperwork, implementing background checks, insuring compliance with local, state, and federal document requirements, insuring compliance with State Department of Education and relevant agency certification or licensing requirements, liaising with hiring administrators across the District, and completing employee-specific data management with high degree of accuracy.
* Primary responsibility for the oversight of personal and medical Leaves of Absence for all certified employees across the District. Duties include working with individual employees to establish eligibility for leaves, engaging in highly confidential and sensitive discussions with employees and health care providers to support the employee during the leave, explaining terms and conditions of the leave under collective bargaining agreements and the FMLA to employees, posting short term vacancies, coordinating with other Central Office personnel, and on-boarding returning employees following the leave.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
