REPORTS TO Recreation Lead POSITION SUMMARY The Recreation Attendant (RA) assists the Recreation Lead in planning, organizing, executing, and leading recreation activities at the campground such as arts and crafts, games, sports, dramatics, music, social activities, hobbies, and themed weekends. The RA is an enthusiastic, outgoing, creative team member who enjoys working with people of all ages. Being a people person with an engaging smile is imperative when relating with guests. This is a highly visible, customer-centric position that requires strong interpersonal customer service skills. Create an environment that is comfortable, fosters teamwork, allows everyone to be themselves, and reinforces KOA's culture that camping is fun and for everyone. SPECIFIC DUTIES Help in preparations for events from start to finish. Assist in creating a detailed events calendar that cohesively supports the campground, and guests of all age ranges. Create supply lists and provide Recreation Lead as needed. Take pictures of activities and obtain necessary photo release documentation for all individuals in photos. In coordination with the marketing department, prepare fun and engaging social media posts. Coordinate and prepare all food and beverage items, equipment, awards, and entertainment as needed for each event. Maintain and clean recreation equipment and facilities. Always keep recreation areas and facilities clean and free of debris. Greet new arrivals to activities, introducing them to other participants, explaining rules, and encouraging their participation. Explain the rules of activities and instruct participants at a variety of skill levels Enforce safety rules to prevent injury. Modify activities to suit the needs of specific groups, such as seniors or small children. Administer basic first aid if needed and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary. Clean, set-up, and breakdown the equipment that is used in recreational activities daily. Maintain high standards of professionalism, customer service, quality and cleanliness while promoting an atmosphere of fun. Maintain health standards and ensure guests and team members are in a safe and secure environment. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and move safely over uneven terrain. Able to work inside and outdoors and in various climates.     The Department of Medicine has developed a Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program in collaboration with the Departments of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Psychiatry. This program is supported by EVMS and Sentara Health. The goal of this program is to provide top-notch outpatient and inpatient clinical care to patients with sickle cell disease. We are looking for Advanced Practice Providers (APP), a nurse practitioner (NP) or a physician assistant (PA), who will function as a clinical provider in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine. The APP will participate in all aspects of patient care and will participate in the supporting roles of consultant and educator as indicated. The clinical practice will mostly focus on clinical care of patients with Sickle Cell Disease in the hospital and in the outpatient clinic under supervision of clinical faculty. The clinical practice may also include provision of primary care to all types of patients. Responsibilities Independently assess, diagnose, & develop treatment plans for patients with sickle cell disease as well as patients in the area of Primary Care in accordance with protocols and standards of care. Promote a schedule of health promotion examinations and interventions in our patient population Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, and prescribe, dispense or deliver medications under a collaborative practice agreement. Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings and orders appropriate diagnostic studies. Provide anticipatory guidance and counseling to patients/families. Document patient assessment and plan of care in the medical record and generate appropriate outgoing correspondence. Be familiar with documentation requirements to insure proper billing. Initiate and coordinate referrals to other health care team members or agencies. Serve as a consultative resource to nursing staff. Participate in the development, utilization and evaluation of resources to meet patient/family educational needs. Provide education to external agencies, community and other health professionals. Participate in development and implementation of divisional and departmental quality assessment/improvement/research programs and processes. Monitor task module of the electronic health record to insure timely response. Responsible for administrative activities and special projects as assigned. Contribute toward the achievement of divisional and departmental goals. Participate and contribute to activities that enhance clinical expertise and nursing knowledge. Participate in professional nursing activities in the division, community and professional organizations. Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, residents and the public. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner's must have MSN and must be a licensed RN by the Virginia Board of Nursing and a certified Nurse Practitioner. Physician Assistant must have an MPA. Must be a licensed Physician Assistant within the Commonwealth of Virginia.     Advanced Practice Providers (APP), a nurse practitioner (NP) or a physician assistant (PA), who will be responsible for providing general medical care and treatment of participants enrolled in clinical trials in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences. Position functions as an independent provider primarily coordinating gynecologic and obstetric care in women enrolled in clinical trials. This professional will work with the research staff on protocol review, study activities, and review and follow-up of diagnostic and laboratory tests. Responsibilities Performs physical examinations, protocol procedures (for example endometrial biopsies, cervico vaginal biopsies) and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of a physician. These measures include but are not limited to health maintenance, pelvic exams, PAP smears, education and counseling. Perform an individualized assessment of the research participants. Document physical findings in study source documents and or case report forms. Work with research coordinators and staff to troubleshoot daily study issues, and respond to sponsor queries and deadlines. Some research participants may need to be seen on weekends and or holidays. Prescribes or recommends drugs in accordance with state laws, or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy or related therapeutic procedures. Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Provides diagnosis and treatment of common acute illnesses within prescribed guidelines and instructions of a physician, as well as education, counseling and crisis intervention as they relate to acute care. Records all pertinent patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), study source documents or case report forms. Discusses case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan. Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by the physician. Refers patient to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner's must have MSN and must be a licensed RN by the Virginia Board of Nursing and a certified Nurse Practitioner. Physician Assistant must have an MPA. Must be a licensed Physician Assistant within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant with women's health is preferred, but not required.
