Dietary Aids work with patients to ensure they get the nutrition they need throughout the day. Guided by a lead Dietitian or Chef who oversees the distribution of food and drinks to patients throughout the shift. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food under the guidance of the Chef or Dietitian. 2. Deliver dishes, trays, and designated times and rooms. 3. Assist in setting up and clearing up dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order Includes dish, tray, trash, leftover removals. 4. Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal / state regulations, and Senior Living / Healthcare requirements. Maintain cleanliness of prep items. 5. Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed. 6. Provide customer service and hospitality during nutrition delivery. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Required Degree: High school diploma Certificate(s): Current Food Handler's Permit is required. Training in Servsafe is beneficial. Must be considerate of resident's comfort, safety, security, and belongings. Demonstrate the ability to set and establish priorities. Manages time efficiently. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner. Maintains a well-groomed appearance that complies with organizational and State food code standards. Ability to adhere to dress code and kitchen uniform requirements. Demonstrates knowledge of and understanding of food safety, sanitation, preparation and serving principles. Ability to work with all people and must have the ability to get along and socialize with them. This includes employees, residents, families, visitors, vendors, other health care professionals and the community at large. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: May be required to lift or carry equipment or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, pulling / pushing, and extended periods walking and/or standing. Serves patient meal trays, loads/unloads trays onto food trucks, works in dish room, and sets up, prepares, and assembles nourishments and other food items. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Assembles food items and delivers trays Refers to daily assignment sheet for the day's duty schedule. Assembles cold food items for patient tray line following production sheets and verbal instructions. Cleans and sanitizes work area upon completion of assembly process.
