Advanced Equipment: Servicing and maintaining a variety of critical equipment, including PLCs, distributed control systems, overhead cranes, motors, motor control centers, and guide systems.

Precision Work: Using a multimeter and Megohm meter to diagnose issues, running and bending conduit, and wiring motors according to applicable codes.
Safe Operations: Safely racking in and out high-voltage breakers (460V, 4160V, and 12.47kV).
Mobile Equipment: Operating motorized equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, hoists, and cranes to support maintenance tasks.

Summary of Responsibilities
* Coordination and safety of Maintenance Technicians, engineering analysis, failure analysis, system improvement projects and providing technical support to maintenance.
* Safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the plant electrical power distribution system, water treatment plant electrical systems, and powerhouse electrical systems.
* Engineering support includes system studies; load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination, etc.
* Data entry and analysis in ETAP or EasyPower software.
* Provide occasional direction to electrical maintenance technicians.

* Work with engineering firms, electric utility, and contractors.
* Coordinate medium voltage switching with plant operations, write switching procedures, and assist with outages.
* Maintain the integrity of the equipment documentation and drawing systems.
* Provide training for employees where necessary.
* Model best maintenance and engineering practices.
* Understand CAPEX priorities and work with MEU Maintenance and Operations to develop "shovel-ready" projects.
* Provide specialized advice to assigned areas for the resolution of operational and functional problems and issues.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. During troubleshooting there is a possibility of live voltage of various levels that must be avoided. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Use of appropriate PPE including steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection and additional equipment as required to minimize the hazard.

Summary/Objective
The Electrical and Instrument mechanic position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment to support the site's business goals and objectives. This is a position on a 24/7 shift; scheduled for 14 shifts in a 28 day period, (7 dayshift and 7 nightshift).
Essential Functions

Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform simple preventative maintenance needs such as: Inspection of instruments and test equipment periodically; adjusts calibration to ensure functioning within specified standards, changing filters, etc.
Installs, repairs, maintains, and adjusts indicating, recording, telemetering, controlling instruments and test equipment, used to control and measure variables, such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force, and chemical composition, using precision instruments, and hand tools.
Field fault analysis - determines if instrument has failed or if it is a process problem; Disassembles malfunctioning instruments or test equipment, such as position sensors, band heaters, multimeters, level control, and either examines and/or tests mechanisms and circuitry for defects.
Fault analysis of hardwire relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits (120V to 480V 3phase) and common utility / lighting circuits; fault analysis of PLC based systems with control logic modification if required
Installation of new control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested, to include design, load and Implementation of new control logic;
Replaces or repairs defective parts, using hand tools. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, PM's and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, test equipment, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Work with Computerized Maintenance Management System with input of maintenance results/history, review of BOM parts, history, and scheduled WO.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. During troubleshooting there is a possibility of live voltage of various levels that must be avoided. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Use of appropriate PPE including steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection and additional equipment as required to minimize the hazard.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
