Seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in Change Management/Change Control, Engineering Quality, and Systems Engineering-specifically within nuclear and EPC environments.
This is not a field construction role. The ideal candidate has engineering experience supporting construction and fabrication projects, not hands-on field construction.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (4-year accredited degree required).
10+ years of related engineering or project experience.
Experience in construction management, fabrication environments, or EPC projects.
Strong experience in Change Management/Change Control.
Strong communication skills to work with management, clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Ability to apply technical knowledge, follow regulations, and manage documentation.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in time-sensitive environments.
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years in engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction (EPFC/CM) environments.
Experience working in nuclear industry projects.
Background in risk assessment initiatives.
Successful project engineering experience on at least two medium or large projects.
Knowledge of engineering software tools and databases.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
PMP certification (preferred but not required).

How will you contribute to the team?

What will you contribute?
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience focused on the development of substation engineering for Intermediate positions.
A Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred for all positions, required for Senior positions.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Prior utility consulting experience is a plus.
Strong client focus and customer service.
A high level of interpersonal communication skills, including a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of applicable industry standards including the National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and IEEE.

Job Summary
This position is assigned to the Site Design Engineering organization in the EFIN (Engineering Fix-It-Now) group and is part of the Engineering organization at the Vogtle 3&4 site. This position will provide electrical engineering support for troubleshooting and design changes primarily for the station's electrical equipment.
Southern Nuclear, a subsidiary of Southern Company, manages and operates eight nuclear power electric generating plants that provide approximately 20 percent of the electricity used in Alabama and Georgia. Southern Nuclear is leading the nuclear renaissance by operating the first new U.S. nuclear reactors in more than 25 years. The two newly-commissioned Westinghouse AP1000 reactors currently operating at Plant Vogtle make the facility the largest in the U.S. with four reactors on one site. Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to plan and perform work requiring sound technical judgment in the
evaluation, organization, and execution of project management assignments worldwide. This role
has the responsibility to perform the essential job duties and functions as listed below with the
overall objective of managing and/or coordinating project activities that are in compliance with the
contract and ensure the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and client profitability of the completed
project. Performing assigned general duties of limited scope and level of responsibility, this
position is designed to develop broader project management knowledge and experience. At this
level, the role may have the responsibility as the only project engineer on a medium size project
with full accountability for the general duties, or the responsibility for general duties on a larger or
more complex segment of a very large project.
• Perform basic project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of
procedures, documentation of communications and meetings, and identification/evaluation of
project issues and problems
• Coordinate efforts of technical disciplines, vendors and licensors to ensure integrated and
complete designs that meet project requirements and contractual obligations
• Review project staffing requirements and coordinate staffing with supporting functional
organization managers and/or subcontractors
• Support creation and coordination of overall project plans and schedules, and monitoring
activities, progress, and milestones against the plans
• Support creation and coordination of project effort hours, and cost estimates and budgets, and
monitor progress and cost performance against these
• Support the preparation, delivery and coordination of project deliverables, design documents,
and bid packages
• Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements:
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and (10)
years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the
applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in
order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to
management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national
statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Discipline Specific Job Requirements:
• Make use of client University courses for continued learning experiences
• Utilize knowledge management communities to capture, support and leverage relevant

• Participate in vendor trade shows and become familiar with new technologies and industry

Preferred Qualifications:
• Six (6) years of experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and
construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) industry including the performance of
functional tasks on projects with a well-developed understanding of procedures and
interfaces
• Experience participating in risk assessments initiatives
• Experience in international locations and diverse cultural environments is recommended
• Previous successful performance in a project engineering position on a minimum of two (2)
medium or large sized projects
• Detailed knowledge of the clients software tools and databases preferred
• Ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships while meeting the
company's needs
• Flexible and adaptable approach, willingness to take on new work challenges; adaptable to
changing circumstances
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, accountability, and adaptability skills
• Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and
accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks
• Customer focused with ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships
