Electrical engineer job in San Juan, PR
Under the direction of the electrical engineering lead or project manager, this position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing power plant electrical systems
You will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues
Assist the electrical engineering lead or project manager in efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget
Prepare and review detailed calculations, including three phase AC and DC power studies, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting and protective relay settings
Prepare engineering documentation for design input for drawing production
Prepare and review engineering reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formats
Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation
Develop project work plans
This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week.

Essential skills and experience:
A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required
3 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new plants, or modifications or replacements for existing plants; experience should include the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications
Experience is required with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), equipment selection, and analytical calculations
Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role
Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others
Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Effective working in teams and individual work
Detail oriented approach to work
Must be bilingual in Spanish and English (Read, Speak, and Write)
Valued but not required skills and experience:
PE license

What You Will Do:
Lead cross-functional initiatives/projects between Electronics Engineering and Operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
General Project Management: managing cost, schedule and risk. Providing status of production and field EEC removals and coordinating the return of EECs to Phoenix operations for incoming PAT. Evaluating PAT results and engine faults codes, and discussing next steps with all stakeholders including Phoenix operations, Service Engineering, Design, Software, Systems, etc.
Work with engineering to drive root cause and corrective action. Dual programs: Military Programs: PW4000 - F139 Tanker, PW2000- F117 Nighthawk, Commercial Programs: PW1100/1500 -Airbus A320/A220 and Embraer E190
Maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, staffing requirements, IPT communication, status updates and various cert development activities.
Work in a manufacturing environment and electronic products, in liaison with the Business unit.
Prepare and maintains project plans, budgets, and staffing requirements to ensure that all action item lists are completed, and project quality expectations are met.
Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete projects to ensure business targets are met.
Maintain and provide analysis of trends, performance, resource cost and forecasting reports.
Gather and analyze data to monitor projects' progress in terms of cost, schedule, and technical specifications to facilitate operations and ensure that established objectives and budgets are achieved.
Meet with the project team weekly to manage project performance, status, open issues, and tasks.
Conduct critical path analysis and works closely with the IPT to manage tasks and workflow.
Monitor and assess project issues, escalate when necessary, and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
Ensure compliance with company guidelines and internal processes and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of projects.
