What You'll Do: * Complete all assigned jobs safely and in the most efficient manner available. Use experience and training to make recommendations that will reduce costs to the assignment. * Seek out additional training in any identified developmental areas. * Direct supervision of assigned apprentice(s) is required to ensure that the apprentice is following all VMC policies and safety procedures. * Assist the Electrical Foreman with department cost control. Utilize electrical experience to organize and assign tasks to eliminate idle time wherever possible. * Keep the Electrical Foreman informed on the progress of all assignments and of any variables that may change the scope of the assigned task. * Assist the Electrical Foreman in identifying skills that apprentices may be lacking and assist in creating training that will raise the skill level of the other Journeymen and Apprentices so that all journeymen and apprentices are capable of performing their tasks as required in a systematic and repetitive fashion. * Ensure electrical work and equipment complies with the NEC, MSHA and OSHA requirements. * Work with department leadership to implement changes necessary to make any changes manageable and sustainable. Skills You'll Need: * Experience. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the electrical trade, laying out work, and organizing jobs..
