About the Role:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining facility equipment and ensuring the operational reliability of mechanical, electrical, and water systems throughout the plant. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, and a commitment to high safety and housekeeping standards. The technician will perform routine preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and support continuous plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks as required.
Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and equipment repair needs.
Conduct shift rounds at least twice per shift to inspect compressors, chillers, pumps, extrusion equipment, material transfer systems, and other critical systems.
Identify and report equipment problems, leaks, or deficiencies; take corrective action as necessary.
Execute preventative maintenance tasks including lubrication, filter changes, oil changes, motor/pump replacements, plumbing repairs, and cleaning.
Assess equipment condition-filters, hydraulics, motors, compressors, pumps, plumbing, and electrical systems-and determine appropriate response.
Utilize SAP to generate work orders, track labor, and record material usage.
Complete routine assignments independently with minimal supervision.
Maintain housekeeping standards in all assigned work areas.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years experience in extrusion operations or 3+ years in industrial maintenance.
Basic knowledge of facility layouts including compressed air systems, chilled water, recycled and city water systems, electrical distribution, bus bars, and primary breakers.
Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability.
Basic welding, fabricating, and equipment repair skills.
Adequate computer skills to operate SAP or similar maintenance systems.
Strong adherence to safety protocols.

+ Maintaining Equipment and Utilizing Your PLC Knowledge - You will be alternating in between troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and on the spot machine repair. Candidate must be able to maintain proper documentation, electrical upgrades, and make modifications and improvements.
+ Analyzing Conditions and Providing Solutions - Identifying and examining production equipment failures to un derstand root cause analysis, with the help of interpreting schematics and drawings. Investigating, analyzing and repairing electrical systems while working with PLC programming and other computer-based applications.
+ Driving Innovation and Communication - Actively improving plant efficiency and identifying cost saving opportunities. While maintaining an open dialogue with Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Mechanics and Operators, on day-to-day activities and long-term improvement projects.
Required Qualifications:
+ 3 years' experience with a Journeyman's OR Electronics/Technical Degree OR 5 years of Industrial Electrical Maintenance without degree
+ PLC Troubleshooting experience
+ High School diploma or GED
+ Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
+ Demonstrated knowledge of behavior-based safety systems
+ Sitting, standing, walking, lifting and / or repetitive tasks throughout the day. Employee will be required to occasionally lift up to 50lbs

DEFINITION
The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of skilled and advanced tasks in the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment within the facility and aids in the orchestration and compliance to all local, state and federal environmental regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

· Maintains and modifies, as needed, all plant and production mechanical, electrical and electronic control equipment including related pneumatic, magnetic, hydraulic, optic, sonic, chemical components and controls.
Display a degree of initiative toward the preventative maintenance of the plant and equipment
Engage with suppliers as needed.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
· Coordinate with department heads and supervisors in resolving production planning and control issues, as needed.
Work with outside suppliers, as necessary, to resolve any plant maintenance related issues as needed.
Communicate project status and progress on a timely basis.
Prioritize projects and coordinate activities with other departments and organizations within and outside the organization.
Ensure proper execution of policies and procedures within areas of responsibility.
Must have good attendance and be reliable.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Knowledge of metal casting processes and other manufacturing processes such as welding, melting and finishing operations.
· Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
· Critical Thinking Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
· Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and senior managers, as well as employees.
· Ability to operate a personal computer and secure information from established data processing, spreadsheet, word processing, database and graphics programs.
· Ability to express ideas and communicate orally and in writing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Five years of maintenance experience on a variety of plant mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic equipment.
· Experience with voltmeters, gauges, thermocouples, PLCs, mechanics and electronics
· Experience with HVAC
· Experience with 480/60/3PH electrical circuitry
· Experienced in forklift and personnel lifting equipment operation and repairs
· Knowledge of boilers and pressurized equipment
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before the employees in the organization, communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and leadership throughout the organization.
The ability to manage schedules, consider resources, and communicate these needs effectively throughout the organization.
CONTACTS
Contacts with foreman and others regarding machinery installation, removal and machine maintenance. Contact of some importance with supervisors and discussion with supervisor or fellow workers. Frequent phone and on-the-job contact with equipment manufacturers technical service personnel.

· Conduct inspections and document results and work orders in the Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
