Additional Notes
This is a 9-month field service project requiring a mix of local travel (within driving distance, home nightly) and regional travel that involves weekly overnight stays from Sunday through Thursday when flying to client sites.
Standard work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM, with occasional overtime based on travel or site workload. Even during travel weeks, Fridays will be reserved for a remote meeting with the team lead once the technician returns home.
Role is 100% onsite at client locations; no remote work outside of Friday meetings.
A valid state driver's license (Real ID compliant), a clean MVR, and a reliable personal vehicle are required for daily field travel.
Top required skills are electro-mechanical troubleshooting and printer hardware break-fix experience. A Lexmark certification is preferred but not required.
Ideal candidates will have 2-3+ years of field service or hardware repair experience (printers, PCs, POS systems, etc.).
No on-call rotation and no shift differentials for this assignment.
Daily mileage will vary depending on assigned client locations; candidates must reside within 75 miles of Eldron, MO 65026.
Required Skills & Experience

What You Will Be Doing
Project focus on upgrading advanced commercial printers at retail locations.
Duties may include replacing printer parts, paper feed, power supply, changing the print head, changing toner drum, transfer belt, image unit.
Perform complex upgrades and troubleshooting of printers, servers, hard drives, and monitor systems.
Provide on-site technical support to internal or external customers in resolving complex or escalated technology issues on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
Install and remove equipment and systems as required.
Responsible for day-to-day operation of applications and equipment and serve as a customer contact on technical and service-related problems.
Ensure that all schedules, transmission, on-line systems, and problems are resolved in an accurate and timely manner.
Serve as a liaison between customers, departments, and within the organization to lead problem resolution and change management processes.
Determine the most cost-effective repair / resolution to minimize customer downtime.

POSTITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer who is responsible for performing warranty repairs, and the commissioning of SMA utility inverters in the field. Duties include commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, learning to analyze data, operation and maintenance activity and utility inverter applications. This job requires continually working with high voltage electricity and maintaining excellent customer service activities while in the field at customer sites.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Commissions, troubleshoots, repairs, and analyzes SMA America's utility inverters in the field, via email, telephone, and site visits.
Develops a detailed knowledge of SMA's utility inverter products, associated SMA accessories, and third-party accessories that are sold by SMA for use with the inverters.
Required to maintain accurate inventory count of spare parts provided by SMA Regularly works with high voltage DC electricity, three phase power, and the relevant software and firmware of the inverters.
Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction while striving to lower the costs of field service.
Perform and maintain maintenance activities in accordance with the SMA product maintenance manual on assigned sites with SMA customer contractual obligations.
Requires the ability to work weekends and/or nights on a case-by-case basis. Other duties as may be required or assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A bachelor's degree in a technical field is strongly preferred.
At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic and/or network communications are required. Prior experience in the solar energy industry is strongly preferred

Responsibilities
Able to complete all Technician Responsibilities with 100% accuracy.
Independently perform routine troubleshooting and repairs on the designated modality with an 80% success rate of diagnosing the problem while working within the escalation procedure.
Perform routine calibrations and preventative maintenance on their designated modality and secondary modality.
Perform installations with assistance, on designated and secondary modality.
Work safely in confined areas, including high current/ high voltages modulators (20- 50 kV, 1500A), and use peripheral vision to gauge distances. The confined areas have potential hand/arm ‘traps.' Depth perception is critical.
Work safely on Elekta's full range of products including medical devices producing high-energy ionizing radiation.
Read, analyze, interpret and follow signal flow on blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Instruct customers and staff in proper use of the equipment.
Assist Sales/Customer Service with technical advice.
Stay current on all new products.
Submit timely and accurately; service reports, timesheets, expense reports, film badges and other paperwork as assigned.
Parts inventory management (Part sales where applicable).
Provide product feedback to home office.
Maintain all company-leased equipment, including company automobile, parts, and tools.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Incorporates Elekta Values into all department functions and responsibilities.

What you bring
Associate degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, Physics, or a related discipline.
3-5 years of field service experience, or Level 2 qualification in two or more modalities.
Strong electro-mechanical aptitude and proficiency with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters) and hand tools.
Computer literate with solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, including ESD protocols.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional presence that positively represents Elekta.
Organized and capable of preparing clear, concise reports.
Willingness to travel and work independently as needed.
Valid driver's license in home state.
