The OR Circulator Nurse is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in our ambulatory orthopedic setting. Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures in an outpatient setting.
Function as the patient advocate throughout the perioperative experience.
Perform circulating duties during orthopedic surgical cases, ensuring all safety protocols and sterile techniques are maintained.
Verify patient identity, surgical site, and consent before procedures.
Prepare, position, and monitor patients intraoperatively in collaboration with the surgical and anesthesia teams.
Ensure all required equipment, instruments, and implants are available, functioning, and properly documented.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and scrub techs to ensure efficient case flow and turnover.
Maintain accurate and timely charting in the electronic health record (EHR).
Adhere to infection control, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
Support teammates in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized OR environment.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah.
Certification: Current BLS required; ACLS preferred. CNOR certification a plus.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of perioperative nursing experience required; orthopedic and ambulatory surgery experience strongly preferred.
Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Perform all aspects of airway management, including fiberoptic intubation.

Initiate and administer post-anesthesia pharmacological or fluid support of the cardiovascular system.
Initiate and administer respiratory support to ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation in the post-anesthesia period.

Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct in-home infusion therapy visits with patients according to the plan of care.
Prepare clinical/nursing notes and document patient interventions in both clinical and non-clinical records consistently.
Act as a clinical resource, working collaboratively with other pharmacy departments.
Maintain knowledge of drug side effects and interactions.
Offer telephone and in-person patient education on therapy protocols, drug side effects, and home infusion procedures.
Ensure patients understand their therapy plans, medications, and the importance of adherence.
During initial and ongoing consultations, serve as a patient liaison between the patient, their family, and the pharmacy to ensure a seamless therapy process.
Perform comprehensive, initial, and periodic head-to-toe assessments for patients and initiate preventative and rehabilitative care.
Use health assessment data, and input from the agency team, the physician, the patient, and the family to determine patient needs.
Manage patient and family expectations regarding services, outcomes, and discharge goals.
Establish primary and secondary diagnoses based on patient assessment and home health care focus.
Develop care plans with skilled interventions, medical supplies, and necessary services to meet goals.
Regularly evaluate patient progress, in collaboration with team members, and revise care plans as needed.

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current RN state license.
5+ years of experience in home infusion and infusion centers.
3+ Experience with IV Immunoglobulins and IV Biologics. CRNI certification(Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) is preferred.
Experience with peripheral IV starts, infusion therapy, and phlebotomy for both adult and pediatric patients is preferred
Effective interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational ability to maintain consistently accurate records.
Ability to direct information to the appropriate healthcare provider.
Proficient in computer skills, including word processing, and efficient use of the internet and email.
Current CPR and BLS (Red Cross and AHA) certification, valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care
1. Completes an initial assessment of patient and family to determine home care needs. Provides a complete physical assessment and history of current and previous illness(es).

3. Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions as patient status and needs change.
4. Uses health assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis.

6. Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.

9. Identifies discharge planning needs as part of the care plan development and implements prior to discharge of the patient.

Communication
1. Prepares clinical notes and updates the primary physician when necessary and at least every sixty days.

Additional Duties
1. Participates in on-call duties as defined by the on-call policy.
2. Ensures that arrangements for equipment and other necessary items and services are available.
3. Instructs, supervises and evaluates home health aide care provided every two (2) weeks.
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
1. Graduate of National League for Nursing accredited school of nursing.
2. Minimum of two years of experience, at least one of which is in the area of public health or home care nursing is preferred.
3. Registered nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state.
4. Maintains a current CPR certification.
5. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.
6. Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

The Opportunity
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the management and coordination of patient care in collaboration with the primary care provider. The nurse acts as a triage nurse, educator, facilitator and patient advocate.
What You'll Do
Functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to coordinate patient care to promote positive health outcomes.
Is responsible to clinically triage all phone calls from providers, patients, caregivers and other outside agencies.
Coordinates services with insurance system and the community for benefits to promote the most appropriate disposition of the patient to meet the needs of the patient, family and insurance company when able.
Daily review of lab and diagnostic test results, reviews with providers and contacts patient or the responsible party with results and reviews plan of care.
Daily tasks: medication and lab orders, admit to SNF, DME, follow up on the status of orders/diagnostics, controlled and non-controlled refills, chart audit and preparation for Providers, patient and family phones calls, specialist referrals, document preparation, prior authorizations
Provides daily Chronic Care Management for all eligible PPH patients and documents all CCM time.
Develops, implements and monitors Chronic Care Management Patient Centered Care Plans.
Provides Transitional Care for all PPH patients discharged from one level of care to another (acute care, skilled care, live discharge from hospice)
Coordinates care with the following: acute care case management, ER's, skilled nursing facilities, discharge planners, home health, hospice, EMS
Participates in overall program development and adherence to policies, procedures, processes, state and federal regulations.
Acts as a resource to internal and external customers.
Assists with other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Skills: Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Tech savvy. Must have superb teamwork abilities, especially with communication and follow up. Demonstrates initiative toward problem solving. Must be able to interface with providers and work closely with IDT members.
Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of chronic care and / or geriatric related diseases and treatment options. Good understanding of all state and federal regulations applicable standards. General knowledge of community resources.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a nurse (preferably in case management, home health, community nursing or skilled/long term care.)
Licenses: Current unrestricted nursing license in the state of Nevada, California and/or Arizona.

About the role:

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
* You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
* You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
* You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
* You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
* You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
* You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
* High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
