May Business Trend Roundup: Job Postings, Employee Monitoring, and Desk Organization

Hi folks, hope your month is off to a good start!

We’ve compiled some of the latest hiring trends and insights on the job market to help you stay ahead of the game:

  • Job postings were down 3.7% overall from March to April.

  • This drop was fairly uniform throughout industries, and only Internet job postings increased month-over-month (+1.2%).

  • Job postings for Physicians, HVAC Technicians, and Carpenters increased markedly in April. In contrast, Financial/Tax Examiners, Childcare Workers, and IT Analysts saw a significant decline in job postings.

  • Job postings at Amazon, Big Lots, and Papa John’s increased appreciably in April, while Pizza Hut, DoorDash, and CVS job postings fell.

Notable job posting increases from March-April:

  • Physicians: +30%

  • HVAC Technicians: +16%

  • Nurse Practitioners: +65%

Notable job posting decreases from April-May:

  • Tax Examiners -44%

  • Childcare Workers: -29%

  • IT Analysts: -21%

All data is gathered from job postings on from March 15 to April 15, 2023
