Zippia Company Profile FAQ
-
Where does Zippia get its company information?
Zippia gets company information from employee self-reporting, public and open data sources on the internet, and proprietary data licensed from other companies. Data sources include, but are not limited to, the BLS, company filings, H1B filings, public websites on the internet, and other public and private datasets.
If a company contacts Zippia with a verified email address, we may integrate the information they provide and/or approve to their company page.
-
Can I edit the information on a company profile?
Yes, it is possible to edit the information on a company profile if you claim the profile with a verified email address that matches the company you’re claiming. After claiming the profile, you’ll be able to edit key factual information about the company. Once it goes through an internal verification process, the updates will take effect.

How does Zippia generate salary estimates for a company?
To create our salary estimates, Zippia starts with data published in publicly available sources such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Foreign Labor Certification Data Center (FLC), Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and other internet-based data sets. The data science team then supplements that data by continuously scanning through millions of job postings each day to find published salaries. We match these published salaries to the companies, locations, and job titles in other datasets. Finally, the data science team calculates a weighted average of these inputs to produce an estimated salary for the particular job posting, company, location, and/or job title.
-
Can I turn off salary estimates on my company page?
No, salary estimates cannot be turned off on company pages.
-
How reliable are company salary estimates?
Because our data comes from a variety of sources, the more frequently the company appears, the more accurate the salary estimate. That means that larger company estimates will be more accurate and reliable than salary estimates for smaller companies.
-
As an employer, what can I do about inaccurate salary estimates?
Our salary estimates are based on publicly available information, and to maintain transparency and accuracy, we cannot remove salary estimates. However, if you believe your salary estimates to be inaccurate, you can contact support@zippia.com with detailed information on accurate salaries, and our team will review and look into improving the model with the provided data.
-
How often are company salary estimates updated?
Company salary estimates are updated monthly.
